8.4 x 4.4 x 3.9 cm. Flattened, transparent, doubly-terminated crystals of baryte have grown in parallel on a matrix covered with iridescent galena and tan-colored siderites. Mined in May of 2000.
A VERY SHOWY and excellent specimen of pristine, complete all-around, 2.5 cm, cream-colored, marcasite sphere aesthetically set in matrix from Dalnegorsk, Russia. Choice material from the Richard Hauck Collection. 6.0 x 4.8 x 3.3 cm
An EXCELLENT and aesthetic plate with nicely isolated, highly lustrous, very dark blue lazulite crystals to 1.0 cm and surrounded by amber, GEM siderite crystals and glassy, water-clear quartz needles on matrix from the famous Rapid Creek locality in the Yukon. This is VERY CHOICE, PRISTINE material with multiple display possibilities. Ex Marty Lewadny Collection of Winnipeg, Canada. 8.5 x 5.0 x 1.5 cm
An aesthetic Panasqueira combination specimen of lustrous and gemmy, very light green, tabular apatite crystals on matrix with sphalerite and siderite. 3.0 x 2.2 x 2.0 cm
A showy and highly unusual specimen of siderite crystals preferentially coating and encrusting a lustrous, transparent quartz crsytal from the famous Ontario, Canada locality of Atikokan. The quartz crystal is undamaged, except for a small contact, near the base on the back. Choice material from the Lewadny Collection. 7.8 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm
Beautiful clusters of highly lustrous, complexly twinned sphalerite crystals nicely set on contrasting matrix with tan siderite blades from a most uncommon King County, Washington locality, the Vanishing Derelict Copper Prospect. 4.2 x 3.3 x 1.6 cm
A BEAUTIFULLY spherical ball of sparkly, tan, blades of siderite with scattered, lustrous, transparent, colorless calcite rhombs from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine at Dalnegorsk, Russia. This is CLASSIC material from this mine, which has only ONE SMALL POINT OF ATTACHMENT and is undamaged. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 3.4 x 3.2 x 3.2 cm
A very aesthetic specimen of a mineral no longer being mined. There are two FINE deep blue crystals of lazulite here, the larger measuring a full centimeter, along with a few smaller ones. The lazulites sit amongst a row of gemmy siderite crystals all on a bed of quartz points. Pieces of high quality , with isolated crystals, are not so common! 6 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm
A CLASSIC OLD-TIME English specimen from the Roebling and Smithsonian Collections of parallel-growth, radial rosettes of hematite studded with golden siderite crystals and smaller, lustrous hematite crystals. This is a really interesting specimen with unique aesthetics and i have not seen one like it. Ex Gary Hansen collection 6.9 x 6.9 x 4.0 cm
A dramatic and unusual "nest" of lustrous, black sphaerosiderite balls in a vug in matrix from a VERY UNCOMMON locality, Moscow, Idaho. These botryoids in the vug really look like eggs in a nest. Rare species! Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 7.7 x 6.7 x 3.2 cm
Semi-lustrous, well crystallized, greenish-brown compressed rhombohedra of Siderite associated with a few crystals of Pyrite. This piece was difficult to photograph, but it''s pretty impressive in person. 7.8 x 4.2 x 4.0cm
A very showy, old-time, classic German specimen of lustrous, gemmy, green fluorite dodecahedrons preferentially coated and sparingly covered with platy, rust-brown siderite. This fine old piece, with an antique German label, hails from Rittersgrun, Erzgebirge, Saxony. ex Kevin Brown Collection 7.9 x 6.8 x 4.2 cm
One of the most fervently treasured of all German classics are these metallic, carved-looking galenas from the Harz, circa the mid-1800's. The best of them have contrasting association with siderite. This one, as well, has calcite for further accent - I have never seen before! It is a very attractive specimen, and has excellent quality 2 cm crystals on the front display, balanced above the contrasting carbonates. It is contacted on the sides and back, but the display face is so good. I have seen very few for sale in recent years, and they tend to be extremely expensive - I saw dribs and drabs of half the quality for twice the price in Munich on the European market where they are so highly valued, in fact. 7 x 5.3 x 3 cm
Superb, sharp chalcostibite crystals in a "bowtie" cluster atop matrix, make this one of the better ones I have seen for sale in recent years. This was found at what really is an old classic locality, but recently in a lucky find of the early 1990s. Most people consider these to be the best examples of their species, for display purposes. 6 x 3.9 x 3.6 cm
2.5 x 2.2 x 2.2 cm. An aesthetic and excellent thumbnail cluster of blocky, olive-greenish/brownish siderite rhombs with a unique, eerie, metallic-gray shimmer lustre from the 1970s-1980s finds at the well-known Julcani District of Peru. Ex. Sam Nasser Collection. This was a rare one time pocket.
