CKTSR-1 - SHATTUCKITE on PRIMARY MALACHITE on SHATTUCKITE-included QUARTZ - $ 4000 SOLD Kaokoveld, Namibia miniature, 5 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm ex. Charlie Key
Amazing, visually stunning, piece with electric and chatoyant deep green, primary malachite perched on the blue quartz! The deep blue color is caused by shattuckite investing the quartz, so its sparkly and bright, not dull. A single non-included clear quartz is in the middle of the natural pedestal that serves as a base for the 2-inch , doubly-terminated malachite crystal! The color contrast is simply AMAZING. Note also the accenting shattuckite rosette atop the upper-left of the malachite !
D06-76 - Shattuckite - $ 300 SOLD Mesopotamia, Khorixas, Damaraland District, Namibia miniature, 5.1 x 4.8 x 3.5 cm
Shattuckite is very rare in crystalline form! This new find from the are of Khorixos, in remote partt of Namibia known for scheelite in the past, is surprising. This is one of the larger specimens I was able to obtain, and features a protected vug of beautiful crystals!
D06-82 - Shattuckite - $ 175 SOLD Mesopotamia, Khorixas, Damaraland District, Namibia thumbnail, 2.9 x 2.6 x 2.1 cm
Shattuckite is very rare in crystalline form! This new find from the are of Khorixos, in remote partt of Namibia known for scheelite in the past, is surprising. This is one of the prettier specimens I was able to obtain, with a rich carpeting of beautiful crystals!
K-121 - Shattuckite on Malachite on Shattuckite-included Quartz - $ 2250 SOLD Otjikotu, Kaokoveld, Kunene, Namibia small cabinet, 6.5 x 5.1 x 2.7 cm ex. Charlie Key
One of a very few specimens we have from a special pocket Charlie said was found about 3 years ago, this piece glows with more intense color in person. It features radial rosettes of shattuckite, itself a rare mineral. These are perched on top of extremely lustrous crystals of primary malachite to about 1 inch (i.e. malachite formed first as a large crystal rather than as a replacement of previous azurite as you normally see from Tsumeb or Bisbee...and quite rare in such size and quality). These alone would comand a pretty good price in such a miniature, with malachite of this quality. However, to cap it off, the malachite sets atop a rolling matrix of INTENSE BLUE quartz crystals, colored by shattuckite inclusions. Then, those quartzes site atop a thick layer of shattuckite on matrix...its just an incredible combination. In person, its more 3-dimensional as well.
K-123 - Shattuckite - $ 950 SOLD Otjikotu, Kaokoveld, Kunene, Namibia miniature, 3.8 x 3.5 x 2.2 cm ex. Charlie Key
A really rich specimen for this material, which has been trickling out the last 2 years. However, most of them , all I have seen certainly, have much smaller botryoidal balls of shattuckite and thus less impact and significance. This is hands down the best I have in the collection in terms of significance, therefore.
K-124 - Dioptase on Shattuckite in Chrysocolla geode - $ 1250 SOLD Otjikotu, Kaokoveld, Kunene, Namibia miniature, 4.5 x 4.0 x 2.5 cm ex. Charlie Key
Another exceptional shattuck/diop combo! These are very rare, and I have never seen but a few of them out of the small batches of the last few years trickling out of this locality. This piece has a rather large vug, and thus tons of shattuckite for the money...its probably more valuable, if less unique, split in half to sell as two shattuckite specimens. However, I think the novelty value of such a large intact pocket is worth keeping intact, even if its harder to photograph accurately. In person, its really impressive for the depth and rolling interior that is hard to show here
K-125 - Shattuckite included in Quartz - $ 850 SOLD Otjikotu, Kaokoveld, Kunene, Namibia miniature, 5.9 x 5.4 x 3.9 cm ex. Charlie Key
A shockingly intense blue quartz specimen, with brilliantly lustrous crystals colored by minute inclusions of shattuckite. This is the highest color intensity I have ever seen for the material, and the piece just glows from across the room with color
MD-117506 - Dioptase, Shattuckite - - Archived Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia miniature, 4 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm.
4 x 2.2 x 1.2 cm. The Dioptase- Shattuckite combination has become an instant classic because of the fabulous aesthetics, and this specimen is a perfect example. The Shattuckite forms a delicate sky-blue crust composed of radial crystals, and inside the folds of the pocket are numerous gemmy and lustrous dioptase crystals up to .7 cm.
MD-117703 - Shattuckite, Quartz - - Archived Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia small cabinet, 5.3 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm.
5.3 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm. Incredibly deep azure-blue quartz here is caused by microscopic inclusions of the rare copper mineral shattuckite. This is a gorgeous piece with top lustre and sparkle to it.
MD-118532 - Shattuckite - - Archived Ajo, Little Ajo Mts, Ajo District, Pima Co., Arizona, USA small cabinet, 7.9 x 6.1 x 3.4 cm.
7.9 x 6.1 x 3.4 cm. A BEAUTIFUL blue specimen of CUTTER-GRADE, dense shattuckite from Ajo, Arizona. Portions of both sides are micro-crystallline. Excellent, old-time material from the Carl Davis Collection. 177 grams or 6.2 ounces.
MD-118703 - Shattuckite, Quartz, Malachite - - Archived Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia thumbnail, 3.1 x 3 x 1.3 cm.
3.1 x 3 x 1.3 cm. Shattuckite in and of itself is a lovely mineral, and is becoming more highly desired for its gorgeous light blue botryoidal crusts. Here, incredibly, you have quartz included by Shattuckite. This gives the gemmy sparkling Quartz a rich deep blue color best described as a sapphire blue. Add a few Malachite crystals, one of which is even coated by the Quartz, and you have an interesting combination specimen.
MD-120693 - Shattuckite, Dioptase - - Archived Omaue Mine, Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia thumbnail, 3.0 x 1.8 x 1.8 cm.
3.0 x 1.8 x 1.8 cm. A SUPERB and gorgeous toenail of a banded shattuckite vug lined with beautiful, royal-blue spheres of tiny shattuckite needles and highlighted with lustrous and gemmy, emerald-green dioptase crystals from the recent and small find at the Omaue Mine, Kaokoveld, Namibia.
MD-120842 - Shattuckite, Quartz - - Archived Kaokoveld Plateau, Kunene Region, Namibia miniature, 4 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm.
4 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm. An exceptional example of Sattuckite including Quartz. The deep blue color combined with the incredible luster of the Quartz makes the aesthetics nonpareil. What makes this particular specimen special are the two sharp gemmy quartz crystals that range up to 1cm in size!
