MD-119636 - Wulfenite, Devilline, Serpierite - - Archived Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia small cabinet, 8.7 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm.
8.7 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm. A EXCELLENT and AESTHETIC, OLD-TIME Tsumeb specimen of lustrous, caramel-colored wulfenites attractively set on contrasting quartz needle-covered matrix and FURTHER enhanced by the blue-green copper sulfate oxidation minerals devilline and serpierite. ALL of the major wulfenites are PRISTINE and the large complex crystal is 1.4 cm. The old, 1970s or early 1980s, dealer label misidentifies devilline and serpierite as rosasite.
MD-271646 - Serpierite - - Archived Serpieri Mine, Kamariza Mines (Kamareza Mines), Agios Konstantinos [St Constantine] (Kamariza), Lavrion District Mines, Lavrion (Laurion; Laurium) District, Attikí (Attica; Attika miniature, 4.8 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm.
4.8 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm. Serpierite is relatively uncommon hydrated calcium, copper, zinc sulfate and this very fine and rich specimen is from the Type Locality - the Serpieri Mine at Laurium, Greece. Beautiful, turquoise-blue, radial clusters of sparkly serpierite micro-needles richly cover the matrix, which also includes sprays of primary malachite needles. Excellent material from this ancient locale, which was old at the time of the Classical Greeks.
