8.4 x 5.6 x 5.3 cm. A transparent, doubly-terminated, 3.5-cm aquamarine (along with some smaller ones) is intergrown with a large, doubly-terminated crystal of schorl tourmaline (with a fibrous termination at one end). The light-colored mineral is feldspar, which has formed an unusually sharp 4 cm crystal in diagonal growth, right next to the large aqua. Intricate and aesthetic! Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
4.5 x 3.9 x 3.5 cm. A chunky compound crystal of MEXICAN schorl tourmaline, with striations on the sides and a jumble of odd faces on the back side. From the well-known California collection of Charles Hansen.
6.2 x 2.8 x 2.4 cm. A stunning specimen of a gleaming, striated crystal of schorl tourmaline, with the area just beneath the termination decorated with a one-centimeter doubly-terminated gem aquamarine and a couple of smaller schorls (each terminated on the inside end). The termination of the large schorl is rough and jagged, but complete and undamaged.
7.0 x 5.6 x 5.0 cm. Especially gemmy and intensely blue aquamarine crystals aesthetically set jackstraw fashion on feldspar matrix with lustrous, etched schorl crystal make for a SUPERB and AESTHETIC combination specimen from the famous Erongo Mountains of Namibia. The two large schorls are doubly terminated and interestingly, the upper terminations are etched, while the lower terminations are sharp. The large schorl is 3.0 cm. The aqua crystal quality is WAY ABOVE AVERAGE for typical Erongo aquas. ALL of the major crystals are pristine. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
14.3 x 12.4 x 6.8 cm. A total combo plate for your all-included Erongo pocket! This specimen of crystallized feldspar matrix hosts several aquas to 1 inch clustering about a 2-inch crystal of aquamarine on one side; and balancing it is an approx. 2-inch SHARP, doubly-terminated schorl in counterpoint. Ex. Charlie Key.
14.5 x 13.0 x 8.0 cm. This is a brilliantly lustrous, sparkling blue specimen that is large and unrepaired. The major crystal is 4 inches tall, and 2 inches across the termination! ALL crystals here are GLASSY, with the best lustre I have seen, almost glassy and polished in appearance. Even the terminations share the incredible lustre and clarity. Within the larger crystal is a large moving water bubble, easily seen; and a few smaller ones as well. The whole piece is a pocket floater! It broke away from the pocket wall and the backside was microcrystallized, so it is complete even on the bottom in a technical sense. Small schorl crystals are scattered on the aquas.
17 x 11 x 6.5 cm. This crystl weighs just over a kilo. The crystal measures 10 x 8.5 cm, is 3.5 cm or 1.75 inches thick, and is complete all around. It has a minor indentation on the left side that is crystallized in faces with attached albite blades over them.
8.5 x 6.4 x 4.3 cm. This is a huge topaz crystal in which you can see clearly a number of slender crystals of schorl tourmaline shooting right through the center, engulfed as the crystal grew. The crystal was apparently stream-rolled and/or polished along the lines of the original faces to give a better view into the gemmy center with its fascinating inclusions. This whopper topaz weighs over 300 grams! It has a pretty light amber color to it.
4.3 x 2.9 x 2.4 cm. Basically an interesting "unusual locality" tourmaline crystal rather than a great specimen, though the crystal IS complete and terminated and has sharp faces.
5.6 x 5.0 x 4.6 cm. Super lustrous, jet-black schorl prisms in parallel- and perpendicular-growth form a very aesthetic specimen from the Erongo Mountains. The large vertical schorl "crown" is striking and the quartz needles at each end are a very nice accent. The schorls in the front are doubly terminated and there is only a bit of contacting on each side. A high quality Erongo schorl specimen.
3.5 x 3.5 x 2.8 cm. A cute and aesthetic Erongo toenail of a gemmy and lustrous aquamarine crystal, with a typically very gemmy termination, very nicely accented by a jackstraw cluster of lustrous, jet-black schorl crystals and resting on a bit of contrasting feldspar. This is essentially a damage-free, showy specimen.
5.9 x 5.9 x 3.8 cm. This Erongo combo specimen features shiny little black crystals of schorl tourmaline in combination with little sea-foam green fluorites, on a cluster of feldspar crystals. This specimen has a really unusual balance of minerals for the locality, resulting in a unique locality piece!
6.2 x 4.5 x 1.8 cm. Yet another combo from Erongo, showing yet another variation on the theme of aqua and schorl that is well-known from this locality. This is a top-notch specimen from a recent find of BI-COLORED aquamarine crystals, with colorless bottoms and gemmy blue-green terminations! In this case, the crystals sit on a bed of contrasting tiny, acicular schorl crystals that create a perfect setting.
2.9 x 2.3 x 1.4 cm. This is the "classic" combo from the Erongo locality: a thumbnail floater cluster of aquamarine (the largest xl is 2.6 cm) in association with slender black crystals of schorl tourmaline.
4.7 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm. The classic Erongo combo, here represented by a DOUBLY-TERMINATED aqua that is gemmy at one end, with the shiny black schorls embedded in one side of the crystal. The bottom termination is naturally-healed. Weighs 19 grams.
