MD-20024 - Roselite - - Archived Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco small cabinet, 5.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm
The arsenate roselite is a very close cousin of wendwilsonite (named after Min Rec editor Wendell Wilson), and in fact they are indistinguishable without testing. This is a rich pocket of the best deep magenta, sparkly as can be. Rosalite specimens can be rather boring form-wise, but this one is quite sculptural, with the matrixy bottom part serving as a base for the pocket itself. Darnit, matrixy should be a real word. it is so descriptive?! 5.5 x 5 x 4.5 cm
MD-207533 - Roselite - - Archived Bou Azzer, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco small cabinet, 6.2 x 4.5 x 2.6 cm.
6.2 x 4.5 x 2.6 cm. Brilliant, gemmy, magenta roselite crystals to 5 mm richly line the 3.2 cm vug on this sculptural matrix on this fine specimen from recent finds at Bou Azzer, Morocco.

4.0 x 3.8 x 3.5 cm. Brilliant, gemmy, magenta roselite crystals to 3 mm richly line the 2.7 cm vug on this sculptural matrix on this fine specimen from recent finds at Bou Azzer, Morocco. Best of species, now being found here. The recent special issue of the Mineralogical Record on Bou Azzer has an excellent, in-depth discussion of this famous locality.
MD-224141 - Roselite, Quartz - - Archived Aghbar Mine (Arhbar Mine), Aghbar, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco cabinet, 12.8 x 8.5 x 5.9 cm.
12.8 x 8.5 x 5.9 cm. This is a unique specimen combining a druse of small sparkly quartz crystals with a druse of small sparkly roselites, in a naturally contoured pocket. The overlay of the quartz on the roselite creates a beautiful effect. This is not recent, and dates to probably 6-7 years ago, I am told. Ex. Eric Asselborn Collection.
MD-226336 - Roselite, Calcite (Var: Cobaltoan Calcite) - - Archived Bou Azzer, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco cabinet, 10.2 x 9.8 x 3.0 cm.
10.2 x 9.8 x 3.0 cm. Brilliant, gemmy, magenta roselite crystals, nicely complimented with sharp, glassy, pink, cobaltoan dogtooth calcite crystals, richly line the well-placed 3-dimensional vug on cobaltoan calcite-covered cabinet matrix on this fine larger specimen from recent finds at Bou Azzer, Morocco.
MD-231843 - Roselite, Baryte - - Archived Bou Azzer, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco small cabinet, 7.0 x 6.0 x 4.8 cm.

MD-255080 - Wendwilsonite, Roselite - - Archived Bou Azzer, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco small cabinet, 5.9 x 4.9 x 3.2 cm.
5.9 x 4.9 x 3.2 cm. A very rich and fine specimen of sparkly, gemmy arsenates from the Bou Azzer District. The light rose-red wendwilsonite crystals are the rare magnesium analogue of roselite and Bou Azzer is the Co-type Locality with the Sterling Mine of New Jersey. The glassy, magenta roselite crystals, the cobalt analogue of wendwilsonite, are a very nice compliment. An excellent example of the species and famous locale. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
MD-26293 - Roselite-Wendwilsonite Series - - Archived Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco small cabinet, 8.4 x 8.4 x 4.5 cm
A showy and excellent specimen of gemmy and lustrous magenta roselite/wendwilsonite crystals, up to 8 mm long, on quartz-rich matrix from Bou Azzer, Morocco. The specimen would have to be X-rayed to determine which mineral it is. Old dealer stock of Dr. Gary Hansen and not shown since the early 1980s! In fact, Wendwilsonite was not discovered until 1987! 8.4 x 8.4 x 4.5 cm
MD-55559 - Roselite - - Archived Aghbar Mine (Arhbar Mine), Aghbar, Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco miniature, 4.8 x 4.5 x 2.3 cm
A showy and bright vug on matrix filled with gemmy and lustrous, cherry-red roselite crystals with colorless calcite scalenohedrons from the famous Bou Azzer District of Morocco. The longest calcite crystal is 7 mm. Roselite is a rare calcium, cobalt, magnesium arsenate and even with the scattered damage, this is a highly representative piece. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. It is possible that, if analysed today, it would be the related species wendwilsonite. 4.8 x 4.5 x 2.3 cm
MD-60991 - Roselite, Calcite - - Archived Bou Azzer District, Tazenakht, Ouarzazate Province, Souss-Massa-Draâ Region, Morocco cabinet, 9.6 x 6 x 4 cm
Now here is an interesting, uncommon and PRETTY combination of Bou Azzer minerals both of which get their color from the cobalt content: the roselite (very closely related to wendwilsonite, by the way), an intense deep scarlet, and the calcite, of course, a pretty pastel pink. You see specimens of each coming from Morocco lately, but typically not both together like this! 9.6 x 6 x 4 cm
