4.8 x 2.7 x 2.5 cm. A classic, sharp, lustrous, tabular, rose-red rhodonite crystal aesthetically and vertically set in calcite matrix with attendant, tan willemite crystals. A very showy combination piece from the classic locality of Sterling Hill. Outstanding fluorescence with the calcite and willemite! Ex. George Elling Collection.
6.8 x 4.6 x 3.5 cm. A showy Sterling Hill Mine combination specimen of blocky, rose-red rhodonite crystals on massive rhodonite matrix and RICHLY COVERED with lustrous, octahedral franklinite crystals. There are many more franklinites on the back of this excellent and classic combo piece. Ex. George Elling Collection.
4.5 x 3.9 x 3.3 cm. A gemmy, partially euhedral, deep cherry-red rhodonite specimen from the NEW FIND in Brazil. There is contacting, but this remains a very showy, highly representative and excellent specimen for the species and it is not from Broken Hill.
5.0 x 4.6 x 2.0 cm. DISCRETE, ISOLATED, gemmy, cherry-red rhodonite crystals on a beautifully contrasting white-coated matrix specimen from the NEW FIND in Brazil. This is the first time, that we have offered discrete crystals at auction and they are RARE. The sharp, pointed crystal is nearly perfect at 3.0 cm. The other large crystal is well-formed, but is probably contacted on the top. This remains a VERY SHOWY, HIGHLY REPRESENTATIVE and excellent specimen for the species and it is not from Broken Hill. This piece is particularly aesthetic.
9.0 x 6.2 x 6.0 cm. DISCRETE, ISOLATED, gemmy, cherry-red rhodonite crystals on a beautifully contrasting snow-white matrix specimen from the NEW FIND in Brazil. Discrete crystals are RARE. The sharp, pointed, bladed crystal is 3.7 cm. The large, blocky crystal is 2.8 cm across. This is a VERY SHOWY, HIGHLY REPRESENTATIVE and excellent specimen for the species and it is not from Broken Hill.
2.4 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm. PRISTINE and GEMMY rhodonite crystals are probably THE most desirable species from the famed Broken Hill deposit of Australia. This dark cherry-red, tabular beauty is beautifully perched on a fragment of galena. Knowing the specific Broken Hill mine is not that common, so there is an added bonus. EXCELLENT material from the Ernie Schlichter Collection.
3.3 x 3.3 x 1.3 cm. A gemmy, partially euhedral, deep cherry-red rhodonite blade from the NEW FIND in Brazil. There is contacting, but this remains a very showy, highly representative and excellent specimen for the species and it is not from Broken Hill. This piece is particularly showy.
