A solid reference specimen of gemanite ore noted as "very rich" on the original label from David New, who is generally reliable on such things (although I haven't had it xrayed myself to confirm). The look and heft of the piece feel right , though, for the material , and i feel that David's rarities are trustworthy.

2.8 x 2.7 x 1.9 cm. A rich and fine combination specimen of the very rare germanium sulfosalt species renierite and germanite from the Tsumeb Mine. A rich vein of lustrous, bronze-colored renierite microcrystals is displayed on two faces of the solid matrix of gray, metallic-lustre germanite. Portions of the germanite ore have a colorful purple-green-blue iridescence. Tsumeb is the Type Locality for germanite. From the 29 Level of this world-famous mine. Ex. Rob Smith Collection.

2.8 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm. Renierite is a very rare germanium sulfosalt species, that also contains copper, zinc, arsenic and iron. This old-time, slabbed and polished specimen is from the Type Locality in the Democratic Republic of Congo - the Kipushi Mine (Prince Leopold Mine). The lustrous, massive, metallic-gray upper portion of the piece is the renierite and it rests on a matrix of chalcopyrite and tennantite. This material probably dates to the 1950s or 1960s and is accompanied by an older Burminco label. Heavy for its size at 41 grams. Ex. Mullane Collection.

Renierite is a rare sulfide that is NOT often cut into stones. It's not to say that it is difficult to cut, but you just don't see facetted sulfides. This stone shows the typical iridescent appearance that this material is known for. This is one of the very few faceted stones of Renierite that I have offered. This gem has a Rectangle cut, and is opaque, but the material is never gem quality. A cool rare gem that would make a great addition to any collection.
