2.9 x 2.3 x 1.8 cm. This would be "cute" for Peru, but this is actually a Spruce Claim specimen, which makes if far more interesting and desirable! Here you have a super shiny golden compound crystal of pyrite spiked atop a gemmy quartz crystal! The pyrite contact is all on the back, so you have this marvelous display face.
8.8 x 2.4 x 2.1 cm. An amazingly dramatic sceptre of quartz from Nevada - smoky as it rises to the sceptre, then changing to the gemmy and light sceptre, with a razor-sharp chisel termination!
14.4 x 5.4 x 5.4 cm. From the collection of Ed David, a BIG, gemmy quartz crystal, quite distinctive for Panasqueira in and of itself, but made into a truly show-stopping specimen by the crystals of orange dolomite on the back that wrap around the front just the perfect amount to frame the fine quartz crystal, like a mane of blonde hair! The effect is wonderfully aesthetic and stunning!
4.7 x 4.2 x 3.1 cm. These have always been well-loved by collectors - quartz druse over deep robins-egg blue chrysocolla, here thickly filling a seam. The quartz has formed a pretty snowball in one place!
12.4 x 10.4 x 5.4 cm. An AMAZING cluster of quartz crystals out of the collection of Ed David! These gemmy crystals are stacked upon one another as if by hand, with both terminations complete, sticking out on either side! The terminations on one side of the crystals are sprinkled with little yellow-tan muscovites. On the other side is a cluster of arsenopyrite (the quartz/arsenopyrite association is well-known from this locality). A show-stopper of a quartz specimen!
2.9 x 2.2 x 2.1 cm. Gemmy 2.5 cm, yellow-green apatite crystal beautifully nestled in quartz-rich matrix. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection.
13.0 x 9.2 x 5.4 cm. A large, 6.0 cm, pristine, frosted, green fluorite octahedron aesthetically rests on a CABINET plate of needle quartz along with two, smaller, intergrown fluorite crystals. This SHOWY and EXCELLENT specimen is from the famous William Wise Mine in New Hampshire. Some of the best American green fluorites. Ex. George Elling Collection.
5.0 x 4.1 x 2.4 cm. A showy and excellent Tsumeb combination piece of a sharp, 2.6 cm, matte-black tennantite crystal nicely set in matrix of lustrous, sharp, grayish, milky quartz crystals. This is an UNCOMMON and very fine Tsumeb combo, as well-terminated quartz is not that common at Tsumeb. Ex. George Elling Collection.
5.2 x 5.0 x 3.8 cm. An aesthetic and classic Pachapaqui, Peru combination specimen of a pink, sail-like cluster of parallel-growth, extremely flattened, manganoan calcite rhombs beautifully upright in a bed of lustrous, milky quartz needles. The calcite rhombs are pristine and there is very little damage to the quartz needles. Showy and excellent material from the Chris Korpi Collection.
7.0 x 4.1 x 1.8 cm. A VERY RARE, SUPERB and OLD-TIME, two-sided crust of gorgeous quartz crystals impregnated with rust-red hematite on a field of scintillating specular hematite. The other side is water-clear quartz crystals dusted with hematite flakes. This STRIKING specimen from the famous iron mines of Cumbria, England. Ex. Caldwell College and Richard Hauck Quartz Collection.
9.5 x 6.3 x 3.8 cm. The terminations of these lustrous, water-clear quartz crystal spires are preferentially coated with chlorite on this dramatic and pristine specimen from Graubunden, Switzerland. The central, dominating quartz is really a highlight on this aesthetic specimen. Classic Swiss material from the George Elling Collection.
9.4 x 6.3 x 4.2 cm. A SHOWY and EXCELLENT smoky quartz gwindel from a NEW FIND and LOCALITY in Bahia, Brazil - Ceara. The gwindel is water-clear, highly lustrous and has classic and typical twist. The body of the gwindel is essentially pristine. One set of terminations is in excellent condition, with only the slightest bruising. There is contacting on the other set of terminations, but certainly not too detracting, as you can see. The gwindel is nicely set on quartz matrix. An excellent representation of the species and NOT from the Alps or Urals.
4.5 x 3.0 x 3.0 cm
5.8 x 3.9 x 2.7 cm. Feldspar is generally pretty dull, but in the case of this unusually aesthetic specimen from Mogok, you have a LUSTROUS and razor-sharp crystal, with pretty bevels, and actually some COLOR to it. A unique and attractive example of a fine crystal of an otherwise ordinary mineral.
6.9 x 3.4 x 2.8 cm. Even without the tourmaline inclusions, this is just a spectacular quartz crystal - due to its complex, architectural compound form, its SWISS gemminess and incredible glassy luster. The tourmaline crystals included in back simply add "something extra" to this exquisite crystal. As is almost always the case with these, the tourmalines are not terminated (these can almost never be taken out of the pocket with terminations intact).
