ex. Charlie Key
This great miniature of what is called "reverse scepter" is a must for any quartz collection. This piece is very unusual for the extreme elongattion of the reverse sceptre, and teh fact that the piece has survived, on matrix no less, from the Gobobos
ex. Charlie Key
Here is an unusual assemblage from the Gobobos, like none I have seen. The main amethyst crystal is surrounded by "wavy" growths of chalcedony. There are two clear quartz crystals, each with subtle hematite inclusions, attached to this crystal as well. The whole unlikely mass is a floater.
ex. Charlie Key
This amethyst specimen from the Brandberg mountains is a great example of amethyst but a very atypical example of quartz! Note the secpters to the lef tand right, on quartz cores. Yet, the middle crystal grades elegantly into the amethyst termination WIHTOUT creating a sceptre effeect. Bizzare, on the same specimen!? In any case this is a lovely, 360 degree group of dark purple amethyst on top of milky quartz, technicalities of uniqueness aside.
ex. Charlie Key
A gorgeous, 3-D, splayed matrix group of light amethystine quartz. Note that while two of the crystals are show reverse scepter form at their tips (n either edge), the core crystals in the center show normal terminations - a neat contrast!
ex. Charlie Key
This a small, but choice, doubly-terminated amethystine/smoky quartz crystal. The picture says everything.
ex. Charlie Key
This is a lovely reverse-scepter spray on matrix. The crystals are to 1 inch, small perhaps, but so elegant!
ex. Charlie Key
Very unusual quartz crystal! This is a floater, terminated ALL around and on all points doubly-terminated. It has what looks like a smoky herkimer-diamond-styled quartz crystal perched smartly on one end . Truly unique amongst this crowd!
ex. Charlie Key
Considering how hard it is to get a matrix specimen out of this locality, this is a wonderful example! The sharp 8cm-long crystal is of quartz with amethyst phantom. It is super glassy, totally pristine, and gorgeous!
ex. Charlie Key
Another fine example of a matrix quartz from the Gobobos, this specimen with a lovely smoky tip and a light amethyst center, all highlighted by hematite speckles.
ex. Charlie Key
Truly unusual reverse-scepters from the Gobobos, one piled next to another! The milky quartz bottom with two smoky reverse scepters make this one of a kind.
ex. Charlie Key
Cute little miniature smoky scepter sitting in a base of chalcedony. Ok, its small, but SO choice...this 2cm crystal looks faceted, its so clean and clear and gemmy and bright...just a mesmerizing little guy.
ex. Charlie Key
Here we have an elongated scepter with a smoky bottom, clear center and amethyst tip. Really unusual and visually intersting for the subtle color play
ex. Charlie Key
This is 'another" scepter with the desired purple staff and smoky head, but SO clean, clear, brilliantly lustrous, and sharp!
ex. Charlie Key
A very sharp single crystal of smoky quartz with a small shaft showing scepter growth atop.
ex. Charlie Key
A gemmy miniature , sharp and bright, with wonderful purple phantom growth.
