7.1 x 6.5 x 2.2 cm. A combination plate from Guanajuato, Mexico of white, plumose sprays of calcite attractively scatttered with sparkly pyrite-dusted, medium-lustre, prismatic, cogwheel-looking, gray galena crystals on a matrix of tiny gray needle quartz crystals. A fine sulfide combo piece, for which the Guanajuato mines are famous for.
A very well-balanced specimen featuring two gemmy, pristine balls of Poldervaartite perched on crystallized matrix. The Poldervaartite measures 3 cm long and 2 cm across, and is pristine and complete, of highest quality. 7.5 x 4.0 x 2.3 cm
6.1 x 2.5 x 1.8 cm. A REALLY NIFTY and SHOWY Marty Zinn Collection specimen of large, glassy and translucent, flesh-colored apatite crystal preferentially coated on one side with pearlescent, zoned muscovite books and a single quartz crystal.
15.3 x 8.0 x 3.8 cm. A beautiful, very aesthetic, large cabinet cluster of three, intergrown, graduated size amethyst "flowers" from recent finds at Irai, Brazil. The amethyst "petals" are glassy and lustrous, with purple cores and near-colorless tips. Amazingly, this striking piece is nearly pristine. The matrix crust and amethyst flowers are curved. Outstanding, large material from this find and locale from the Bruce Carter Collection.
4.3 x 4.0 x 1.8 cm. An Arizona CLASSIC. A gorgeous and aesthetic miniature of mirror-bright, tabular hematite blades nicely set on needle quartz-covered matrix. The large hematite crystal is 1.7 cm. This very fine piece is from the 1978 find at the Veta Grande Claim at Quartzsite. Ed Ruggiero was Johnny-on-the-spot and bought this super piece from Julius and Miriam Zweibel in November of 1978.
10.5 x 4.2 x 4.0 cm. A pseudomorph specimen from the famed Mundo Nuevo Mine of Peru. A 1.1 cm, lustrous and gemmy, bladed, blood-red hubnerite pseudomorph after an octahedral scheelite crystal sits at the end of an arch composed of tiny, lustrous, pastel-green muscovite blades. The hubnerite pseudo and the muscovite arch are beautifully draped across a plate of water-clear and glassy quartz crystals.
5.5 x 4.6 x 4 cm. Marvelous 2.3 cm Aquamarine crystal sitting in a bed of Feldspar along with a light Smoky Quartz crystal. The Aquamarine, in its own way, is spectacular. The luster is excellent, the termination gemmy and near-perfect, but what really makes this crystal is the unusually-deep blue color of the Aqua.
4.8 x 2.5 x 2.1 cm. Well-formed and pleasing, these gemmy light teal botryoids of Chalcedony The silky luster accents the translucent very nicely, and they practically light up under just a little bit of direct light. The largest botryoid is about .5 cm across.
4.8 x 3.8 x .9 cm. Delightful and eye-catching, this Quartz on Chrysocolla is nothing short of terrific. The combination of multiple shades of Chrysocolla, from dark blue to sky blue, with the outer layer of sky blue coated with sparkly drusy Quartz, create a wonderful aesthetic appeal. The uniformity of the .6 cm Chrysocolla balls adds even more to the appeal.
14.3 x 11.4 x 4.2 cm. Outstanding plate of clear gemmy Chalcedony liberally coated with beautiful bright gemmy Apophyllites. The stepped balls of Chalcedony, which have the appearance of giant drusy quartz balls (really, how cool is that!) range up to 2 cm across. They have a gorgeous silky translucent luster and a grey tint due solely to the plate of matrix below. The Apophyllites, many of which are doubly-terminated and a few with some cleaves, reach up to 2 cm in length.
4.1 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm. This 4.2 cm single complex crystal has a slight white base, and is gemmy through and through. The pink color, which runs for a full 3 cm, is a rich and uniform pink. And if that wasn’t enough, there are three lovely terminated Rose Quartz crystals that parallel the main crystal, and stand out from it just enough to be perfect complements to it.
9.6 x 7.5 x 3.4 cm. Exceptional cluster of sharp and partially gemmy Datolite crystals up to an amazing 2.5 cm on edge. The Datolite begins as a massive translucent plate, grading into well-formed crystal faces along the gemmy surface. The color is a fine mint green, and the luster is absolutely first-rate. The surface is also populated with numerous terminated quartz crystals up to 1 cm.
15.4 x 11 x 4.5 cm. Outstanding and highly unusual combination of Chalcedony and Heulandite. Both the Chalcedony and the Heulandites are, at least, partially tinted green by an unknown inclusion. The coloring effect is incredibly striking, and it creates great and pleasing contrasts across the piece. The Heulandites also occur, clearly as a later generation, in lovely pearly 1.5 cm doubly-terminated crystals filling a pocket that resembles the mouth of an alligator. The deep green Chalcedony has a very nice silky luster to it, the included Heulandites are flat, and the gemmy Heulandites have a bright pearly luster.
2.8 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm Very nice example of the famous and recent mushroom-habit Tourmalines out of Mogok. This lovely toenail has excellent luster and form, and the deep cherry-red color is about as perfect as you could ask for. The quartz partially encases the 1.7 cm across Tourmaline, creating a nice aesthetic piece.
4 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm. An exceptional example of Sattuckite including Quartz. The deep blue color combined with the incredible luster of the Quartz makes the aesthetics nonpareil. What makes this particular specimen special are the two sharp gemmy quartz crystals that range up to 1cm in size!
