7.5 x 5.6 x 2.8 cm. Lustrous and very attractive set of four Schorl crystals set in a nest of very fine light smoky quartz crystals. The three largest crystals, which range up to 2.3 cm, are undamaged from the mining process save for a few minor dings along the edges. Most of the smokies are undamaged. The luster on the Schorl is fantastic, and the overall piece is exceptional.
8.2 x 7.2 x 5.5 cm. Outstanding combination piece from a famous locality. The large (over 5 cm across) Microcline twin is one of the finest I have ever seen of this habit. Combined with the other prismatic Microcline and the pale smoky quartz crystals, this is truly a remarkable specimen. There are even small cubes of pale green fluorite to several mm perched on the faces of some of the Microcline.
3.7 x 3.0 x 1.9 cm. A choice little miniature of this now classic combo. Pristine and complete all around.
6.5 x 5.7 x 5.6 cm. This is an oddball from India, a geode of agate with drusy quartz inside, and a small 1 cm fluorite ball of yellow color tucked down in the crevasse. Also in there is a sheet of clear selenite, above the fluorite.
4.2 x 2.7 x 2.5 cm. This is classic Ray material from the 90s and the specimen is very showy. It features three pristine 1 inch stalactites grown together, on a tree-trunk larger stalactite. A thin layer of quartz coats the whole piece, giving it a sparkle.
6.9 x 5.6 x 2.9 cm. From new finds, this is a 3 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm crystal of complexly formed fluorite, perched on quartz. It has one contacted side in back, otherwise complete though. The quartz coating is often dissolved OFF these fluorites but here has been left on.
7.1 x 6.6 x 5.7 cm. Beautiful lustrous schorl crystals perched on a thin plate of quartz. Do not kid yourself…schorl may be often relegated to the least desirable tourmaline species but when its this lustrous, sharp, and displayable, even a black tourmaline is worthy! These Namibian schorls are by far my favorites for the species.
5.3 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm. Incredibly deep azure-blue quartz here is caused by microscopic inclusions of the rare copper mineral shattuckite. This is a gorgeous piece with top lustre and sparkle to it.
5.9 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm. A simply outstanding Brandberg quartz crystal showing smoky and amethyst phantoms within a crystal-clear quartz point. It is TOP LUSTRE and glassiness. Two 1 cm prehnites provide a great accent!
6.2 x 5.1 x 2.6 cm. A super lustrous 3-cm schorl perched in a quartz nest…very choice miniature! The schorl is pristine. One quartz point is damaged, to the side, but the main ones are also undamaged.
5.0 x 4.6 x 3.8 cm. A flashy cluster of really gemmy, teal-blue, fluorites with internal phantoms from older material found here in the 1980s.
11.7 x 8.4 x 5.8 cm. This gorgeous cabinet piece is complete all around 360 degrees and features a dramatic, pristine, glassy amethyst crystal that measures 8 x 4 x 3 cm in size. As is typical for Brandberg, the crystal zones from quartz to amethyst, and the contrast here is striking because the bottom is garlanded by small quartz crystals.
18.6 x 16.2 x 5.8 cm. Beautiful vibrant grape-juice-colored amethyst sits upon matrix of contrasting quartz! This find was found at the Saltman/Plumbago Amethyst Locality near the Camp Encore kids camp.
10.0 x 6.1 x 4.1 cm. An unusual specimen! Prehnite, highly crystallized, from this unusual locality. The prehnite covers a quartz matrix.
11.1 x 10.2 x 5.0 cm. Brassy, bright, metallic chalcopyrites on contrasting quartz matrix from this famous old find of the 1980s…just very different from the style found here today. This piece is extremely showy and large with over a dozen good crystals to 2 cm.
