Imagine having a doubly-terminated Quartz floater liberally covered with a dozen sharp Scheelites up to .5 cm. The Scheelites are smoky with a beautiful translucence and a superb luster. Both the Scheelites and the small accessory Calcites fluoresce, and some of the Scheelites have the characteristic notching near the termination. Admittedly, there is some dinging to a few, but they really do not detract from the fact that this is an attractive classic from a famous old classic locality.

Beautiful glassy Amethyst from one of the great Amethyst localities in the world. The main crystal is gemmy, highly lustrous, and such a lovely shade of purple! It is also an unusually fat sceptre for the locality. One termination face is even skeletal! The Amethyst is complimented by four quality Quartz crystals attached to the matrix. This is a very fine miniature.

Faden Quartz is famous for the "faden lines" caused by break-and-rehealed zones that wind their way through the centers of these Quartz crystals. This 3.4 cm tabular crystal is particularly attractive, not only for its excellent gemminess, but for the lovely crystal habit as well. One thing that is truly remarkable is the sharpness of the faden zone, AND that it also goes through the two tiny quartz crystals on top of the main crystal. Also, few are on matrix from this find of the mid-90s! This specimen is amazing, and a terrific example of this type of occurrence.

These famous finds of the 1970’s produced some great Huebnerites, and this fits well into that pantheon of terrific specimens. The 4.5 cm Huebnerite is stunning and classic, with its superb luster and sub-parallel bladed growth making for a dramatic termination. The Quartz crystals are excellent – well terminated with a lovely white frosting. Amazingly, only a few Quartz crystals are missing from the whole piece, and that is hardly noticeable among the forest of others. Overall, this is an outstanding specimen from a famous locality, in a size and aesthetic quality har dto find today!

Outstanding doubly-terminated crystal that is pristine save for one contacted face along the back. The faden zone (the stringlike line in the middle) is nearly straight, and traverses the center of the crystal. Even more interesting is the fact that this tabular Quartz bends attractively right along the faden zone. A terrific example of this variety of Quartz.

This is one of the best miniature Japan Law twins that I have come across. The clarity of the twin crystal is unusually good and the aesthetics of the twin superimposed on the large gemmy single is really quite remarkable. A few small dings on the crystal tips are barely noticeable as you gaze at the specimen. Overall, this is a terrific miniature.

Superb Quartz casts after Calcite, with the surface looking for all the world like the pure sparkly snow of Vermont (which I have seen up-close-and-personal trying to ski). This aesthetic piece is a knockout in person!!

Looking at this specimen makes me think of skiing in Vermont – the drusy Quartz layer that coats the Calcite is so sparkly (impossible to photograph, it is so fine) and so clean! On top of that, the edges have a very distinct translucent appearance which adds even more to the very fine, stark aesthetics of this piece.

Superb six-sided euhedral crystal of quartz coated with limonite ("turgite"), with a resplendent iridescence that is as bright and colorful as you could ask for. In person, it tops the pics! This is just a magnificent example of a normally worthless mineral, because of the colors...classic in old specimens form this locality but rarely seen today!

Very attractive string of about nine intergrown crystals sitting atop a plate of very clear Quartz crystals. The Whiteites have a nice uniform tan color and very good luster. The crystals, interestingly, seem to always be in intergrown pairs about 1.3 cm in length (twinned?). For the species, these crystals are larger than normal and quite aesthetic in that their lustre is also above par.

The Alps are much more than just pink fluorites and smoky quartzes, with outstanding Hematites being among the other sought-after minerals. This excellent specimen consists of a beautiful lustrous 2 cm fan of Hematite blades growing out of a clear Quartz crystal. The beveled edges of the crystals are stunning, and the mirror-like luster is nicely highlighted by the surface striations. An excellent specimen.

This stunning miniature features a superb, totally gemmy ‘silver’ Topaz that has a lovely complex termination, excellent luster, and is complete all the way around. It is colorless in fact, but the reflections from the surrounding smokies give it a slight tinge of color, hard to define...but i am trying to by calling it "silvery" for this faint tint. If the quality of this 3.2 cm Topaz wasn’t enough, it is sitting atop three fairly gemmy Smoky Quartz crystals! Spitzkopje matrix specimens of this exceptional nature are almost unheard of, and almost impossible to acquire. This is really top notch. It is 3-dimensional and complete all around except for a contact on one end of the smoky cluster

These friends of mine specialize in quartz and have recently culled a few pieces out in trade to me. This specimen is noted for both its exquisite aesthetics (and the lustre and gemminess are FAR more impressive in person!!!) and also for its rarity in that SMOKY quartz from here is quite rare in such quality. Note the size given, and you see it is very equant and symmetrical, not the usual slender scepter! This specimen is pristine and complete all around, and it is admittedly pricey for first appearance but I can assure you that in person., the qualities of the piece really leap out at you and you can understand why it is a premium (which is why I paid this same price as well, in trade, to get it ).

A glassy, brilliant, clear crystal of quartz with a sceptre perched atop a stalk of original growth. the sceptre is slightly smoky in color, less so in person than it appears from the photos which somehow intensified the faint color there. VERY choice! Pristine and complete all around.

This is an exceptional Brandberg specimen because it has such unique qualities: the juxtaposition of the smoky and amethyst zones within making for a striking appearance in color pattern; brilliant luster and glassy surfaces; the sharp red traces of included hematite flashing from within; and the perfection of the piece itself in form. It is pristine, and doubly-terminated, a floater.
