Mineral Specimens with Quartz

On a sliver of matrix are two large rosettes, to 4.5 cm across, formed by bladed crystals of lustrous, black hematite. Emerging from the hematite are a few transparent colorless quartz crystals, to 3.3 cm in length. This is a very fine combo specimen featuring differing colors and textures, way beyod the normal quality expected of material from this still-producing locale. For the size, it is among the best of its type I have seen for 3-dimensional balance and aesthetics, and the absolute gemminess of the quartzes which are usually more cloudy and dull from this location.

A large plate in overall good condition, a little elongated - probably could be trimmed in two, and each half sold for the same! Super translucent crystals here, and rich coverage overall.

Not only for the size and condition, but for the overall "glow" of the colorful crystals, this is one of my favorites, and certainly one of the more elegant large pieces saved. Superb plate, with great relief to the crystals.

A gorgeous large plate with nice form overall and an almost silky sheen, superb for the material! Probably the most "blue" of the lot, in terms of outright color appeal. It is thereofre the prettiest piece here, I would say, of the larger specimens.
