This is the first piece of this material that I''ve ever had for sale. It is a very unique "floater" Quartz specimen that is completed included making it nearly completely black. The form is excellent, and it is a "textbook" example of Quartz. A unique "old time" specimen from Italy. 1.5 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm
This locality is best known for its amazing Galena specimens, but there are some excellent Siderite specimens from this locality as well. This "old timer" is at least 100 years old and features several brownish-green rhombohedra of Siderite measuring up to 1.5 cm on Quartz matrix. An attractive historic display specimen from this classic locality. 6.3 x 3.6 x 2.6 cm
This is an attractive piece feautring a few highly lustrous, lilac colored Amethyst crystals with a beautiful deep green crystals of Epidote sitting atop the largest Amethyst. There are also plenty of micro Hematite inclusions causing beautiful reddish streaks in this one as illustrated in one of the most recent issues of Lapidary Journal. 8.8 x 5.5 x 4.0 cm
These are relatively new specimens to the market, but they are very unqiue and attractive. This piece features several, pale green spherical aggregates of Prehnite measuring up to 1.4 cm sitting on Quartz matrix. The Quartz crystals themselves are unique as they appear to be "Smoky", but seem to have encountered some kind of irradiation or possibly a selective deposition of another mineral giving them a very flashy "two tone" appearance between colorless and a very deep blackish color. There also appears to be some micro green Epidote crystals associated as well, which to the best of my knowledge is a first from this locality. A beautiful Prehnite specimen from this locality that is best known for the superb Babingtonite crystals that were recently found. 11.5 x 8.7 x 6.5 cm
This is a huge, complete, jewel-like Herkimer-style quartz crystal on a natural “base” of dolomite. It was extracted from the pocket without any damage save for a natural contact of about 2 cm on the far right side of the rear edge (shown, far right of rightmost photo), and can be displayed beautifully from any side. An extremely striking quartz specimen for ANY locality, and a superb representative of a New York quartz. BETTER IN PERSON! - MORE GEMMY AND BRIGHT, without the yellowish tint you see here 9 x 7.5 x 6.5 cm
A large, beautiful cluster of quartz crystals covered with little platy, translucent calcites - and, nestled amongst them, a super-sharp, 2.5-cm tetradecahedral (14-sides) crystal of galena, with a fine metallic shine. 15.0 x 10.4 x 7.1 cm
A very unusual and pretty amethyst specimen, with bizarre form that includes skeletal growth, a scepter, and even a "herkimer"-style crystal! 3.1 x 3.0 x 2.1 cm
A large specimen featuring tabular, creamy-yellow crystals of barite that have formed amongst finely-formed, transparent quartz crystals - some with a very pretty silky appearance. 15.9 x 12.1 x 7.1 cm
Look at the gorgeous play of colors in this Georgia classic! The goethite is beautifully cradled in hematite around the base. An unusually aesthetic mini for a Georgia goethite. 3.1 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm
A beautiful Eastern European miniature, featuring calcite twins that have been coated by a second generation of sparkly, creamy microcrystals of calcite; the twins sit atop, and have in places grown around, a cluster of quartz crystals. 5.8 x 4.7 x 2.6 cm
A SUPERB and SHOWY 3-sided CABINET specimen of lustrous, pastel-pink to tan, bladed rhodochrosite balls aesthetically capping massive quartz matrix covered with quartz needles and pyrite crystals from the famed Madan Ore District of Bulgaria. A very distinctive, damage-free specimen. 10.0 x 6.5 x 5.7 cm
A showy and excellent quartz column covered with lustrous, deep cherry-red spessartine garnets to 9 mm and lustrous, flattened schorl crystals from the famous Audrey Lynn Claims of California. The quartz is trying to become a crystal, as some sides have sharp faces. Spessartine is RARE from the Audrey Lynn Claims and this is a fine combo piece. Collected by Tim Sherburn in February, 1995 and ex Chris Korpi Collection. 3.5 x 1.9 x 1.8 cm
From the collection of Marty Zinn, a gorgeous specimen of WATER-CLEAR fluorite cubes nestled amongst contrasting coated quartz crystals, from Dalnegorsk. These have gotten very hard to obtain in good specimens, and will always be huge classics . . 6.9 x 6.0 x 5.6 cm
A flashy Eastern European combo specimen, with sharp, silver-metallic crystals of galena on a matrix covered with bright golden pyrite and quartz crystals. 6.4 x 5.6 x 5.3 cm
A STRIKING and BEAUTIFUL Pederneira Mine specimen of three, gemmy and lustrous, green to blue-green tourmaline crystals to 4.2 cm on a lustrous, translucent, tabular, gray quartz crystal on a matrix of snow-white, tourmalinte-covered albite. The two large tourmalines are doubly terminated and PRISTINE. A very showy piece. 9.8 x 6.6 x 6.2 cm
