Look at these amazingly sharp spikes of quartz - aren''t they strange and unique? The Bor Mine (Bor Pit) at Dalnegorsk turns out the most amazing variety of mineral specimens, some absolutely unique; we have put a variety in this set of auctions to demonstrate this. 7.9 x 3.6 x 2.5cm
Ok, this is sort of a big ol boulder, but it is very pretty, laced through with chrysocolla, and rich with pockets of sparkly quartz over the robins-egg blue chrysocolla, a classic from this area. Certainly a big, showy and impressive specimen! 21.7 x 13.3 x 12.4cm
Glassy, near-transparent, beautifully purple amethyst crystals in a nifty enechelon pattern make this Washington Camp, Arizona specimen an excellent and showy piece. A very trivial termination bruise on one of the crystals is barely noticeable 6.5 x 3.5 x 2.9 cm
Glassy, translucent, gray-tan, pseudohexagonal (flattened octahedra) crystals to 3 mm of the rare silicate zunyite richly cover the nicely contrasting milky quartz matrix. Very minimal bruising, overall, to this very fine, rare specimen from the Big Bertha Mine, near Quartzsite, Arizona. 3.3 x 3.2 x 2.8 cm
A showy, fine, old-time specimen of glassy and partially gemmy, dark emerald-green dioptase crystals to 9 mm nicely cresting quartz matrix from the Type Locality - Altyn-Tube, Kazakhstan. The major crystals are pristine. Fine materal with an old Ward"s label. A bit of periphery damage is certainly not detracting. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 4.7 x 3.9 x 2.3 cm
A rich, old-time, showy specimen of two, tiny wire silver nests sitting at the base of a rich mass of acanthite on milky quartz from the famous Bulldog Mountain Mine at Creede, Colorado. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. 4.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 cm
An EXTREMELY RICH and LARGE specimen richly covered with RARE, sparkly turquoise micro-crystals on quartz from the famous Bishop Mine, Lynch Station, Virginia. Lynch Station arguably produces the world"s finest crystalized turquoise and this is a fine specimen, even with the scattered bruising. This is the largest and perhaps the finest piece, that we obtained with the Dr. Gary Hansen stock. 6.8 x 6.2 x 2.4 cm
AESTHETIC and SUPERB sail-like clusters of soft, hair-like, brassy millerite needles to 2.0 cm on a ship-like geode lined with quartz. This very showy piece is from Halls Gap, Kentucky. 2.5 x 2.3 x 2.5 cm
An excellent and showy specimen of lustrous, curved, saddle-shaped, tan dolomite rhombs to 1.6 cm on matrix with accessory, tiny quartz needles and pyrite crystals from the less well-known Abbeytown Mine, County Sligo, Ireland. Fine locality material. 8.2 x 7.5 x 5.0 cm
This material is better known from the nearby Thunder Bay locality. This is a big single crystal richly included with hematite - very sharp and fine luster! 4.7 x 4.2 x 3.0 cm
A beautiful, translucent stalactite of very sparkly quartz, complete and perfect all around and terminated on top, with an orange core glowing from the center that is probably a first generation of orangey quartz that was later covered with these sparkly crystals. Came out of the collection of Marty Zinn. Rare and hard to get in this quality, from finds in the mid 90s 11.4 x 2.1 x 1.6 cm
With all the quantities of material coming from the Yaogangxian, I have not seen this before - a cluster of quartz crystals with fine, sharp needles of stibnite shooting through their centers! Really cool! 8.1 x 7.6 x 6.1 cm
I love these amazingly perfect yellow balls of fluorite, unlike anything other fluorites you see from anywhere! This one is flawless, sitting on a carefully trimmed matrix of grey quartz. 5.5 x 3.8 x 2.7cm
This classic old material from Baia Sprie (formerly Felsobanya) is some of the most recognizable and highly displayable ore body material from all of Europe. This particular specimen dates back approximately 100 years, and comes with a great old label maintaining it''s pedigree. The Sphalerites on this specimen are especially well formed and very sharp. The overall condition of the piece is quite good considering its size and age. A great old European specimen. 10.0 x 8.5 x 6.5 cm
Some of the most famous (and pricey) Smoky Quartz in the world comes from the Swiss Alps. These specimens are highly prized among collectors, and the Swiss value their Quartz very highly. This specimen features several, sharp, gemmy, lustrous prismatic Smoky Quartz crystals measuring up to 2.7 cm with "Chlorite" inclusions. There is a distinct color to these crystals, that truly is not seen in any other Quartz specimens in the world. There are a few spots of damage to the specimen, but it Swiss Quartz is valued as being some of the highest quality Quartz in the world. 7.6 x 5.7 x 4.3 cm
