From last year''s exciting find of gemmy quartz crystals surrounded by deep green, lustrous, platy epidotes. 14.2 x 12.1 x 5.1cm
A stunning Brandberg amethyst, about as good as they get: super-glassy; razor-sharp, super-lustrous, with a very distinct purple-blush chevron phantom right where you can see it best! 4.9 x 2.3 x 2.0cm
An EXCELLENT, old-time Leonard Mine combination piece dominated by lustrous, striated enargite prisms to 1.4 cm with nicely contrasting needle quartz crystals and lustrous, brass-yellow pyritohedrons on massive pyrite matrix. The major enargite crystals are pristine and the minor periphery damage is certainly not detracting. 6.9 x 5.7 x 3.5 cm
AN AESTHETIC and SUPERB cluster of two, large, gemmy and lustrous smoky quartz crystals with golden muscovite books at the base from the less well-known Cahuilla Mountain District of Riverside County, California. The backlit photo highlights the gemmyness and translucency of the crystals. This is outstanding material from this locale and the trivial bruises near the terminations are barely noticeable. Ex Chuck Houser and Chris Korpi Collections. 9.5 x 9.0 x 6.8 cm
Crichtonite is a very rare, complex oxide containing a number of rare earths. This is surely an old piece, as it comes from the now defunct old workings of the TYPE LOCALITY in Isere. This piece features sharp crystals of up to 2 mm, on contrasting matrix, and they are readily visible. 6 x 4.6 x 3.2 cm.
From near the famous Thunder Bay locality, this is very similar material - a nice example here, with a fine balance of purple and a pretty rust-red from the hematite inclusions. The crystals are sharp and lustrous. 6.5 x 3.7 x 2.3cm
A super-sparkly, really elegant double-stalactite of quartz from India. Quite sculptural and dramatic! 12.3 x 5.6 x 3.5cm
An elegant, interlacing specimen of fine Vera Cruz amethyst, with the characteristic slender, gemmy crystals with a delicate purple blush. 6.6 x 5.9 x 3.3cm
A big, fat amethyst crystal, not only perfectly terminated, but with beautiful cut-glass-like staggered sub-terminations around the sides. Beautiful deep purple color. This specimen weighs in at 2.4 lbs! 13.0 x 8.9 x 7.6cm
I can''t say enough about the gorgeous crystallography expressed in this specimen of pyrite. The isolated, smaller single crystal at the edge of the specimen could be in a textbook for its formal perfection''; the hexagonal faces on this dodecahedron are perfectly symmetrical. The other crystals are highly modified and wonderfully architectural. All the crystals are beautifully isolated on the matrix of sparkly quartz crystals. Yes, there is a lot of mediocre pyrite out there, but really good specimens such as this remain highly desirable. 7.1 x 5.1 x 4.5cm
A very elegant and beautifully balanced specimen of this classic Colorado combo! The well-terminated amazonite has the BEST deep robins-egg blue color. The smoky is not complete, but with the albite, provides a pretty contrast to the amazonite. Competition level miniature! 3.4 x 3.3 x 2.5cm
A huge, complete floater crystal of quartz, of amazing form, shot through with sharp, needle-like crystals of schorl tourmaline! This specimen is fascinating and rare not only for the size and the flat, chisel-edged, triangular form of the quartz, but also for these wonderful inclusions! This superb crystal is complete and undamaged. WOW! Never seen the like! 16.0 x 10.7 x 1.1cm
A SUPERB, AESTHETIC, old-time, Tri-State specimen of 4, sharp, lustrous, gunmetal-gray, octohedral galena crystals to 2 cm nicely perched on off-white chert with ledges and a face covered with gemmy, red, ruby-jack sphalerite crystals. Two of the galena crystals have skeletal features. This is simply an OUTSTANDING, old-timer from the Tri-State District. The galena crystals are damage-free. 8.0 x 4.3 x 2.8 cm
A large and nicely-balanced specimen from the exciting find last year of green epidote crystals on gemmy quartz crystals. The quartz crystals stick out aesthetically in all directions, and some of them actually have epidote crystals included inside! 12.6 x 9.8 x 5.8cm
A 1.8-cm crystal of light teal-colored fluorite, with a distinct phantom inside, nestled amongst lustrous quartz crystals. French fluorites are just not around in any quantity at all . . .this is a very cute specimen 8.0 x 5.7 x 4.5cm
