A very aesthetic specimen of a mineral no longer being mined. There are two FINE deep blue crystals of lazulite here, the larger measuring a full centimeter, along with a few smaller ones. The lazulites sit amongst a row of gemmy siderite crystals all on a bed of quartz points. Pieces of high quality , with isolated crystals, are not so common! 6 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm
A cluster of sharp quartz crystals, decorated with a cluster of super-lustrous scheelites of the characteristic color for the Yaogangxian, as well as a ferberite. There is a ding on only one of the quartz crystals; all have their terminations. 10.7 x 7.4 x 5.4cm
We bought the lion''s share of the good specimen from this pocket, a one-time find last year in Jalgaon. The specimens combine beautiful, silky bowtie stilbites with sparkly, dove-gray stalactites of quartz. 5.7 x 5.1 x 4.2cm
An extremely aesthetic Veracruz amethyst, with an elegant "V" of two gemmy crystals on a perfectly-trimmed matrix, and some smaller accenting crystals. 4.2 x 3.0 x 3.0cm
This is a classic Thunder Bay amethyst, with lustrous, dark purple crystals richly included with hematite - except that its SIZE makes it TRULY exceptional! Except for a couple of dings on the periphery, it is in fine shape, too! It is quite unusual to find a Thunder Bay specimen of this magnitude around; even the smaller ones are prized these days. . . 18.7 x 15.1 x 5.0cm
A gemmy tourmaline crystal stuck right through a terminated quartz crystal! There is one little contact on the back side of the tourmaline, but other than that, it is DOUBLY-terminated and complete! There is another, thinner tourmaline as well, also doubly-terminated! What's more, the quartz itself has a jagged and COMPLETE termination on the bottom, so this entire assemblage is a floater, with no unterminated crystals or contacts! A really special Himalaya piece . . . 4.6 x 4.0 x 2.6cm
There is a major Thunder Bay amethyst specimen in this auction, and this much smaller specimen of a similar material is from a nearby mine - with the same dark purple amethyst crystals and rich inclusions of rust-colored hematite. 5.9 x 2.3 x 2.2cm
A DRAMATIC and STRIKING Cryo-Genie Mine CABINET specimen of two, beautifully crossed, lustrous and gemmy, green, pencil tourmaline crystals to 6.2 cm aesthetically lying on lustrous, translucent, smoky quartz crystals to 6.3 cm and cleavelandite and lepidolite matrix. This is an important and stunning combination piece from the Cryo-Genie and the minor contacting on the large smoky is certainly not detracting. Ex Korpi Collection. 11.5 x 8.5 x 5.8 cm
A STRKING and EXCELLENT CABINET specimen of nests of lustrous, soft, hair-like, silver boulangerite crystals richly covering the upper-half of the arsenopyrite, pyrite and quartz matrix from the famous Noche Buena Mine in Zacatecas, Mexico. Ex Ed Ruggiero Collection, who purchased this piece in 1975 as jamesonite, but had it x-rayed as boulangerite. The arsenopyrite crystals are also choice and are up to 7 mm. 12.2 x 7.0 x 5.4 cm
A VERY SHOWY vug in gossan matrix of lustrous, transparent and colorless calcite rhombs on drusy quartz-coated, botryoidal malachite from Concepcion del Oro, Zacatecas, Mexico. Trivial bruising on a couple of cacite rhombs is barely noticeable. 7.4 x 3.1 x 4.8 cm
A STRIKING and DRAMATIC combination Colorado CABINET plate dominated by a 2.3 cm, lustrous and translucent, purple fluorite cube with lustrous, translucent smoky quartz crystals and microcline crystals from the Lake George area. The large fluorite cube is pristine and overall, there is very, very minimal damage. Fluorites are especially rare and desirable from this colorado locality, better known for other minerals than fluorite. (notably amazonite!). This is a large, showy, fine combo. 11.5 x 8.3 x 3.8 cm
An EXCELLENT, VERY SHOWY and undamaged specimen of highly lustrous, striated and nearly transparent, tabular quartz crsytals to 5.4 cm with jagged, mountaintop-like, etched terminations on a highly contrasting bed of lustrous, black dravite crystals from the famous Audrey Lynn Claims in Riverside Co., California. This fine piece was self-collected by Tim Sherburn and was in the Chris Korpi Collection. THIS PIECE IS DEFINITELY MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, as the high lustre and transparency made photography difficult. 9.0 x 7.7 x 4.5 cm
A striking, showy, old-time slab of lustrous, massive, native copper in porphyritic rhyolite from the lesser-known Kingston Lode of Michigan Copper Country. The slab comes with two old labels, including one affixed to the back of the slab. The exhibit face has been sprayed with lacquer to improve presentation, which is nomal for polished specimens of this type. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. Kingston lode copper in "jasper" is not true jasper, but in actuality is a porphyritic rhyolite (check through Marc Wilson in Min Rec Special Edition). 7.4 x 6.0 x 0.9 cm
We bought the lion''''s share of the good specimen from this pocket, a one-time find last year in Jalgaon. The specimens combine beautiful, silky bowtie stilbites with sparkly, dove-gray stalactites of quartz. 6.2 x 5.8 x 4.5cm
The pic does not show how super-sparkly and dramatic this stalactite is! It is 7 inches long, with a little crook at the end. A second, shorter stalactite is attached at the base. 18.0 x 4.2 x 2.8cm
