Sharp, thick, unusually 3-dimensional crystals of manganbabingtonite to nearly 1 cm make this a significant miniature from this new find. 3.1 x 2.2 x 1.9 cm
Cute specimen with sharp spherical prehnite clusters on sparkling quartz! 4.3 x 3.2 x 1.8 cm
This beautiful included quartz specimen is polished all around , to reveal the rich gilalite inside. This is an extremely rare mineral. It is not a natural crystal specimen, due to teh polishing, I admit, but it is nevertheless significant as heck. Also, there is enormous investment potential in that one could TRIM the specimen into numerous slices, each a salable example of this rare species included in quartz. It is said to be the finest specimen of only 5 that were found. Gilalite is a copper silicate hydrate. To quote Mineralogy of Arizona, “abundant as green to blue-green coatings or thick botryoidal crusts on fracture surfaces in the rock, or replacing diopside”. It had not to our knowledge been found in this form before! 7.1 x 4.7 x 2.7 cm
This piece is ridiculous! It contains a TOURMALINE inside a quartz, cute but not a big deal. Well, WITHIN the tourmaline is a completely round, moving water bubble! I have NEVER heard of an enhydro tourmaline, and yet here we have a double inclusion as its within quarttz, to boot!? The quartz is polished to show it off better, and you can clearly see this tourmaline and the bubble, just sittign there. I am NOT usually one to go crazy over lapidary pieces or weird inclusions, but this is just ridiculous, as i said, and I have never heard of anything like it. 9.7 x 4.9 x 4.6 cm
A very rare Russian citrine, natural and not "cooked" by heat, with a sharp and super-gemmy crystal rising from a roseate cluster. This is extremely rare Russian material, and its a good one! 10.2 x 7.6 x 7 cm
A rather unusual large plate of bournonite crystals, all showing sharp UNTWINNED crystals to 2.25 cm in size. This is actually more uncommon, compared to the twinne dform of the mineral. The crystals form this locality are sharp and gun-metal lustrous, making for very dramatic bournonites. The matrix contrasts a bit more in person than it appears, and is coated with sparkly druse of other sulfides such as pyrite. This is a rich, large, unrepaired piece of high quality from the amazing finds here of several years ago. 13.4 x 11.4 x 2.6 cm
8.8 x 3.4 x 1.7 cm. This extremely elegant combination specimen is one of just a very few of such quality to have come out about 5 years ago. It is complete-all-around and really fine. The color of the purple apatites (which are to almost 1 cm in size) leaps out at you - they could pass for Maine apatite, easy.
This is an approximately 1-inch, 3-dimensional, lustrous, super-sharp rutile crystal perched on matrix! It is a real prize for the size, because of the crystal quality and its balance on matrix. These came out in the late 90s in one small batch, and seem to have gone the way of the dodo since. Haven't seen one this nice in awhile. 5 x 3.2 x 3.5 cm
An excellent and aesthetic specimen of metallic-bright, complex galena crystals on milky-white quartz from Naica, Mexico. Ex Marty Lewadny Collection of Winnipeg, Canada. 6.5 x 4.7 x 4.5 cm
A showy and highly unusual specimen of siderite crystals preferentially coating and encrusting a lustrous, transparent quartz crsytal from the famous Ontario, Canada locality of Atikokan. The quartz crystal is undamaged, except for a small contact, near the base on the back. Choice material from the Lewadny Collection. 7.8 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm
A classic, sliced ore specimen of a vein of massive, brass-colored domeykite in quartz with copper. Domeykite is a copper arsenide and this is a fine, rich representative piece from the famous Mohawk Mine of Michigan. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. This small cabinet weighs over 1 and 1/2 pounds or 688 grams! 6.7 x 6.4 x 4.0 cm
A showy and aesthetic specimen of lustrous, metallic anatase crystals to 5 mm on or within a transparent, lustrous quartz crystal from from a famous Norwegian locality. This specimen would be worth a fortune, if not for the quartz termination ding. 3.0 x 1.9 x 1.1 cm
A showy specimen of highly lustrous, rust-brown, hematite-tinted amethyst crystals to 1.5 cm on amethyst from the famous Thunder Bay District of Ontario, Canada. Ex Lewadny Collection. 6.5 x 4.2 x 3.5 cm
A STRIKING CABINET specimen of sceptered mixed with non-sceptered, transparent, lustrous amethyst crystals to 4.5 cm on matrix from the famous Las Vigas area of Mexico. The horizontal crystal is doubly terminated and really adds character to this showy piece. CHOICE material from the Lewadny Collection. 10.4 x 9.0 x 3.8 cm
A showy, old-time specimen of massive, lightly iridescent, brassy algodonite with radial, colorless to off-white quartz crystal clusters from the famous Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. Algodonite is a copper arsenide and this is an excellent representatiive specimen. Ex Richard Hauck Collection. it goes as a nice set with the domeykite earlier in teh auction 5.6 x 5.2 x 3.5 cm
