This really interesting piece shows clear, vibrant inclusions of pyrite INSIDE of the quartz crystal. (some breach the surface so the could be analyzed). It is an unusually large and elagant quartz piece for the locality by any standard ! The crysat is draped with white dolomite on the top and back. 19.5 x 7 x 5.7 cm

Apatite, Quartz from Panasqueira, Covilhã, Castelo Branco District, Portugal [db_pics/mdpics/MD-34543b.jpg]

9.6 x 5.8 x 3.9 cm. A classic, superb combination specimen from Panasqueira, Portugal and the Dr. Gary Hansen Collection. Sharp, lustrous and gemmy, green, hexagonal apatite crystals to 1.3 cm are aesthetically attached in a cluster and as isolated individuals on glassy, transparent to translucent, diverging, parallel-growth quartz crystals. The double quartz termination is striking and the dusting of sparkly, chalcopyrite microcrystals on the apatites is a nice accent. This is an oustanding, nearly pristine combo piece from this very well-known locale. This choice specimen dates to the 1970s or very early 1980s.

WOW! What a combo! This piece features a quartz tip perched perpendicularly on Arsenopyrite ! The quartz is broken and rehealed on the back faces, and pristine in front. it displays magnificently and is most unusual! 6.5 x 4.5 x 2.8 cm

Two fat yellow apatite crystals to 2.3 cm are perched on a clear, lustrous quartz point...exceptional combo specimena dna a very rare example of yellow apatite from the locality. In person, they are colored pretty much as shown in the closeup photo...a beige-yellow color characteristic but quite rare from the locality. 6.3 x 5 x 3.2 cm

A really interesting quartz crystal showing "terraces" as it terminates, with setback crystal faces that are unusual. From the right side shoots out a little spray of bright arseno crystals....very interesting combo piece! 10.3 x 10 x 7 cm

Apatite-(CaF), Topaz, Zinnwaldite, Quartz from Panasqueira, Covilhã, Castelo Branco District, Portugal [db_pics/mdpics/MD-34550a.jpg]

This material, I am told, came from one pocket in the late 1970s. I have seen only 3 specimens for sale out there. All 3 i have seen feature very unusual wheat-sheaf-like apatite crystals of a pastel yellow hue, in association with small crystals (2-5mm) of faintly blue topaz in association, as this one does scatterred about ! This is an excelleent example of a rare association and with the quartz in the middle is a striking combo piece from an important and now-defunct locality. 7.2 x 7 x 5 cm

WOW! SUPER, 3-DIMENSIONAL, HOPPERED CRYSTALS OF GOLD line the sides and rise from teh top of this well-trimmed quartz matrix. This is, to me, the most desirable form of gold - 3-dimensional thick crystals. Also, the piece is great from both sides! Colorado Quartz Mine specimens carry a price premium, it is true; but then they also stand out in a crowd of EN pieces.... As gold is notoriously difficult to photograph, it is BETTER IN PERSON. 6.5 x 4.2 x 3.7 cm

This important gold specimen is one of those real rarities you couldn't dream of making better if you could cast the darned thing. The COLOR is phenomenal - unusually pure and golden without the slight darkness that some large golds from this mine can possess. It features a truly arborescent cluster of upright gold crystals, very elegant in form, perched atop quartz matrix. It is not repaired or molded in any way. This is 100% natural! Specimens of this size and quality are VERY , VERY RARE. This particular piece was sold over 25 years ago and has resided in a private collection overseas ever since...and I can tell you that such specimens were then and certainly are now extremely uncommon on the market (i know of just a few of this magnitude). This beast weighs in at 336 grams or 1/3 kilo, which is equal to about 12 ounces or about 11 troy ounces (gold standard weight). 15 x 7 x 1.75 cm

An exquisite sceptred amethyst , DOUBLY terminated, PERCHED ON a thin quartz shard! This is a VERY gemmy crysatl that is so glassy it looks wet. Rare locality and that adds value but to be sure, this is a piece that stands on its own merit as a fine amethyst. 7.2 x 3.6 x 2 cm

Quartz (Var: Rose Quartz), Albite from Galiléia, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Southeast Region, Brazil [db_pics/mdpics/MD-34616a.jpg]

This gorgeous piece features an isolated and well-terminated (DOUBLY-terminated at that!) crystal of rose quartz perched on weathered albite. The rose quartz measures just over an inch in size. Exquisite piece! Seldom do you see such well-formed rose quartz for some reason, compared to other members of the quartz family of minerals. Also, they rarely occur in isolation as opposed to in clusters of intergrown crystals. Thus, I consider this a super-premium , competition level miniature. 5 x 4 x 2.1 cm

A superb, perfectly-balanced spray of amethyst crystals from the famous Guerrero locality. This specimen is MUCH better in person. In various indoor fluorescent lighting it can be either a really dark purple or, as shown, a more brilliant dual-toned piece in "normal lighting" of sun-equivalent. The crystals on this specimen show the classic purple phantoms inside, with transparent tips of clear quartz, that make these amethysts amongst the most sought-after in the world. For its size and 360-degree perfection, this is among the best I have seen for sale in the price range. 8.1 x 7.9 x 4.5 cm

This is the second of two specimens of citrine of a wonderful yellow-amber color that I bought from a Russian dealer in February (but this was out to be cleaned til now). I have rarely seen this material. It is RAZOR-SHARP, gemmy and with a perfect termination. Natural citrine of this size and calibre is virtually unknown, and from this location both old and rare. 8.0 x 3.5 x 3.4 cm
