Sharp miniature with some unusual relief, of unusually robust crystals leaping off from rock matrix
We are all familiar with manganite from Ilfeld, but I have only rarely seen anything else from these mines of quality, especially good crystallized pyrolusite crystals. With sharp, robust crystals to about 1 cm, this is a world class example of the species, I would say.
This is a rare old classic. It is also strikingly beautiful with the radiating pattern, high luster, chatoyancy, and super, battleship gray, color. In my opinion, it is the most aesthetic pyrolusite I have seen in a long time!
