7.3 x 5.3 x 4.0 cm. Radiating clusters of splendent, brassy millerite needles encircle a melted-look nodule of arsenian pyrite on this superb and unusual specimen from the famous Meikle Mine of Nevada. The millerite clusters look like a wreath or tiara on the pyrite. The exact mine location is the 41-20 Heading of the Griffin Ore Body.

11.6 x 10.6 x 8.9 cm. A dramatic specimen from this really unusual find of three years ago, where golden pyrite formed along the edges of very large crystals of translucent calcite. This one has really nice coverage on the edges, and is a large and rich example from the find.

3.2 x 3.1 x 3.1 cm. A glorious floater crystal of pyrite from Navajun, with beautiful bevels and face striations, and little sub-crystals poking out of some of the faces. This really unusual crystal was in the collection of Gene Meieran.

7.4 x 6.9 x 5.2 cm. A very unusual Mexican combo specimen that combines sharp, brassy octahedrons of pyrite with translucent crystals of grossularite and books of platy hematite. This is an old-timer.

Pyrite from Oppu mine, Nishimeya-mura, Naka-Tsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture, Tohoku Region, Honshu Island, Japan [db_pics/mdpics/MD-188151a.jpg]

6.4 x 5.9 x 3.7 cm. This superb Oppu Mine pyrite came out of the noted collection of Gene Meieran. The crystals have a wonderful golden gleam to them, in addition to these pretty striations on the faces. And the overall form is beautiful too, because this happens to be a knob or dome, covered all around with crystals (with a few quartz crystals sticking out).

Pyrite from Tsumeb Mine (Tsumcorp Mine), Tsumeb, Otjikoto (Oshikoto) Region, Namibia [db_pics/mdpics/MD-18816a.jpg]

A RARITY indeed! From Tsumeb, pyrite in crystalline form is quite uncommon and this is as fine a thumbnail example as I have seen , featuring a near-2-cm crystal stacked atop others, like a snowman. Acquired 8-15-1986 2.7 x 1.75 x 1.5 cm

Bright, microcrystalline gold is aesthetically perched atop the unique, pink granitic quartz and feldspar crystals. A thin band of black, host rock matrix and bright pyrite is an excellent compliment.

2.25 x 2.25 x 2 cm (both). Most of the Spanish pyrites you see these days are the cubes from Navajun. But here are a couple of weird and beautiful compound crystals from a different locality, featuring interpenetrating cubic forms that are sculptural and pretty. Ex. Feist Collection.
