Mineral Specimens with Pyrite

14.4 x 4.4 x 4.4 cm. This is an amazing "concretion" of pyrite after marcasite from Russia. Ex. Dr. Peter Sztacho Collection.
12.2 x 11.3 x 10.0 cm. This is a very large cluster of slender quartz crystals of the most elegant tapered form, covered with salmon-colored crystals of rhodochrosite. The quartz crystals measure up to 7 cm in length. There are here and there sprinkled shiny little pyrites. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
5.0 x 4.8 x 3.5 cm. A superb, floater, golden-metallic pyritohedron from the classic Italian locality of Rio Marina, Isle of Elba. This super-sharp crystal has mirror-bright lustre and the crystal faces are beautifully etched. A scattering of specular hematite is an excellent compliment. Ex. Mitchell Gunnell and Ed David Collections.
11.8 x 4.8 x 2.8 cm. Attractively isolated on a field of dolomite are little crystals of brassy chalcopyrite in association with larger compound pyrite crystals of complex form.
6.1 x 5.8 x 5.8 cm. This is a fine Peruvian pyrite one out of the collection of Gene Meieran. This is a floater cluster of huge, gorgeously-formed crystals, with an unusual brass-like luster. The crystals have taken on strange forms and formed interesting faces in growing around one another.
7.1 x 5.6 x 1.9 cm. Here is a stunning pyrite from the Sweet Home Mine, with mirror-bright, golden striated cubes intergrown with minor tetrahedrite, on a bed of transparent quartz needles. Ex. Gene Meieran Collection.
2.7 x 2.7 x 1.7, 2.9 x 2.2 x 1.9 cm. This is a set of two matching pyrite thumbnails with different habits. Both specimens from the Canadian locality of Baffin Island in the Northwest Territory of Canada. Each is very sharp and fine, though with different "looks". Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
3.4 x 3.4 x 3.4 cm. Bright, golden, beautifully striated pyrite crystals.
10.4 x 5.2 x 2.9 cm. This is a rare De’An Mine specimen where the pyrites are on a bed of light pastel purple fluorite, adding to the attractiveness. The pyrites measure to 1 cm.
2.1 x 1.8 x 1.7 cm. Here is a very uncommon Turkish pyrite specimen, a compound crystal of interpenetrating octahedra, very pretty. Ex. Dick Jones Collection.
7.1 x 6.7 x 5.8 cm. A gorgeous small cabinet display specimen of Pyrite featuring very good sized octahedrons with cubic modifications. The faces are rather sharp, with good luster in areas with that classic silvery-golden color.
4.6 x 3.2 x 3.5 cm. This compound pyrite crystal is absolutely sharp with mirror-like luster and striking architectural habit.
5.1 x 1.6 x 1.4 cm. A very rare and unique pyrite "bar" from Zacatecas, with beautiful striations on its elongated faces and a mirror-metallic shine. Ex. Gene Meieran Collection.
11.4 x 6.9 x 6.9 cm. An old Butte specimen of very lustrous crystals of pyrite, intergrown with crystals of milky quartz, on a matrix of massive quartz. Some of the pyrite crystals to one side of the specimen are naturally etched.
4.3 x 3.8 x 3.2 cm. This fine pyrite specimen is from the Shangbao Mine, a pyrite mine. These crystals have excellent luster and sharp form.
