Wow...what more can you say than the pics convey? this pyrite is PRISTINE all around front and sides, contacted only on the back out of view. The quartz is pristine and complete all around. It is 3-dimensional, dramatic, and just plain unique in overall combinatorial aesthetics! I love the secondary ntricate faces on the pyrite, and how they reflect light in person to make this appear even more starkly metallic against the contrasting matrix. Gene Schlepp obtained this from the Dr. Miguel Romero Collection in trade. Gene then sold it to Ed with whom it has remained. Yes it is pricey as heck, no question. But its also damned good and stands out from other Peru pyrites like a Sweet Home rhodo in a collection of other red rocks. Previously (mis)labelled as Pasta Bueno, but this has been corrected now.

Very attractive, nearly complete highly modified single crystal of Pyrite. What is remarkable about this pyrite is that the larger faces have a center zone of brilliant luster with the faces rimmed by a zone of ‘brushed’ luster. This may not be unusual for many minerals, but I have never seen this before on a pyrite. This makes it a unique and attractive specimen.

How often do you find a Pyrite that has survived Tsumeb? They were very rare, there. The striations and patina on this mostly complete set of intergrown crystals is truly stunning. A beauty of an unusual Pyrite.

Highly lustrous and complete all the way around save for one small area, this is an excellent example of a habit of Pyrite is hard to find.

Complex intergrown cubes that are highly modified by stepped growth on most of the faces. Excellent luster and good brassy color.

thumbnail, 2.3 x 2.3 x 2.1 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

A symmetrical crystal complete all around, with just a few minor matrix inclusions on back faces. Sharply crystallized pyritohedral pyrite, which is actually rarer than you might think...

thumbnail, 2.6 x 2.6 x 2.0 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

4AN23 - Pyrite - $ 45 SOLD
Cakmakkaya Copper Mine, nr. Murgul, Anatolia, Turkey
thumbnail, 2.9 x 2.5 x 2.3 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

Sharply crystallized pyritohedral pyrite, which is actually rarer than you might think...This is the brightest, most mirror-like of the lot, but it does have some damage on several back faces. It DOES , however, display well from the front and is quite impressive anyhow

4AN27 - Pyrite - $ 95 SOLD
Cakmakkaya Copper Mine, nr. Murgul, Anatolia, Turkey
thumbnail, 2.8 x 2.4 x 2.3 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

A symmetrical crystal complete all around, with just a few minor matrix inclusions on back faces but otherwise perfect. Sharply crystallized pyritohedral pyrite, which is actually rarer than you might think...

4AN30 - Pyrite - $ 125 SOLD
Cakmakkaya Copper Mine, nr. Murgul, Anatolia, Turkey
miniature, 4.4 x 3.8 x 3.7 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

>A HUGE and symmetrical crystal that is complete all around, although with some few minor matrix inclusions on back faces and edges that roughen the surface and also a bit of edge wear (or it would be priced much higher!). Sharply crystallized pyritohedral pyrite, which is actually rarer than you might think...

4AN31 - Pyrite - $ 80 SOLD
Cakmakkaya Copper Mine, nr. Murgul, Anatolia, Turkey
miniature, 3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

2 symmetrical crystals grown together, and a floater complete all around, with just a few minor matrix inclusions on back faces and one ding on a back corner but otherwise perfect. The white coating, which i like, is just a talc-like substance that can be further removed if desired. Sharply crystallized pyritohedral pyrite, which is actually rarer than you might think...

Excellent crystals of Tennantite to 2.3 cm with excellent mirror-like luster. Crystals of this size and quality are simply not that common from this district, or anywhere else, for that matter. The matrix is composed of a fine pyrite druse with beautiful quartz crystals intergrown. One trivial tiny ding but otherwise Superb!

Pyritohedron pseudomorphed by Goethite. A nice specimen for the collector of pseudos as for some reason most of the geothite after pyrites are of simple cubes.
