This rare arsenate has a pleasing light tan or eggshell color and is comprised of a crust of small botryoids to 5 mm across. I especially like the sculptural quality of this specimen. It is very rare in such size and quality, and likely this is an old specimen.

8.3 x 4.2 x 3.2 cm. There is hardly any match in the mineral kingdom for the intense cherry red of Chinese realgars. They also have an almost wet-looking luster and gemminess that add to the appeal. Two notes about these: they are very light-sensitive, so do not keep them in the light - and, they are poisonous due to the arsenic content (they are a sulfide of arsenic), so even though they look good enough to eat - it is a very bad idea!

3.5 x 2.9 x 2.0 cm. A cute miniature/toenail with a spray of two 1-cm-plus cherry-red realgar crystals atop a matrix, and a sharp acicular spray of the rare species picropharmacolite (white needles) below. There is nothing like these, for deep red color! Old find, though the pharmacolite was only recently realized to be such.

6.1 x 5.2 x 3.0 cm. Picropharmacolite is a rare hydrated, calcium, magnesium arsenate. This rare arsenate has a pleasing light tan or eggshell color and is comprised of a crust of small botryoids to 2 mm across.

An extremely rich example of clustered spherical aggregates of this rare arsenate species! Surprisingly, it is somewhat attractive. Old specimen. Ex. Martin Rosser collection. 5.5 x 4.0 x 1.8 cm
