Villiaumite is a rare sodium fluoride, known for its beautiful crystals. The mineral usually occurs as mere cleavage fragments or massive vein fillings. Crystals, such as this sharp, freestanding, pseudocubic crystal, are rare. It is about 1.75 cm on edge. An outstanding display-quality specimen from this important locality.

Lovely spray of really outstanding, isolated Pectolite crystals (not jus tthe usual hairy needles, but real crystals!) up to about 2.8 cm in length. Each needle has a beautiful glassy luster accenting a rich pearly-white color, with some of the crystals grading into gemmy tips. A very fine aesthetic specimen from a classic locality (NOW CLOSED).

MCW52 - Rhodochrosite on Pectolite - $ 600
Mt. St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
miniature, 4.2 x 2.5 x 1.6 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

Small Cabinet, 6 x 5 x 4 cm

An arborescent cluster, complete all around, of stacked rhodo rhombohedra. A very good rhodo specimen for the locality, especially as they are even more rare on matrix!

MCW55 - Monteregianite with Aegerine on Pectolite - $ 750 SOLD
Mont St Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
small cabinet, 6.2 x 5.5 x 3.9 cm
ex.  Ian Nicklin

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

Miniature, 4 x 3 x 2 cm A VERY fine example of this rare species from MSH, consisting of sharp parallel crystals to 1.4 cm in a cluster atop contrasting matrix of pectolite. The Monteregianite has excellent waxy lustre for the species, and the crystals are of a size that would have to be considered exceptional and difficult to obtain in such form.

6.5 x 5.5 x 3.5 cm. New Jersey collectors tend to ravenously snap up these old NJ classics - this one was at one time in the Seaman Museum collection. It is a rich specimen of pectolite that shows off wonderfully the radial structure of the crystals, which forms balls resulting in a botryoidal surface. The crystals have a silky shimmer to them.

Pectolite - Millington Quarry (Morris County Crushed Stone Co. Quarry; Tilcon Quarry), Bernards Township, Somerset Co., New Jersey, USA

9.6 x 5.9 x 2.9 cm. Pectolites are probably the most significant mineral specimens to come out of the Millington Quarry recently, and in fact are some of the best in the world for the species. They are distinctive for their gorgeous peachy-mauve color, and perfectly rounded forms. This is a shallow vug of these mammillary forms, and you can see around the periphery how they are formed from thousands of densely-packed radial acicular crystals.

9.3 x 7.5 x 1.7 cm. A beautiful and sparkly plate richly covered with super-gemmy and lustrous pink grossular garnets to 3 mm and very nicely accented with gemmy, green diopside and white pectolite microcrystals. Pink garnets of this quality and association came out in a one-time find in the late 1990s from the famous and now-closed Jeffrey Mine of Quebec.

Fine radial growth of lustrous white Pectolite. The pearly luster is so good that it just mesmerizes! A very rich piece for what it is, though not a thrilling species per se.

6.8 x 4.4 x 3.3 cm. An excellent specimen from the Jeffrey Mine. An aesthetic cluster of very gemmy and lustrous, pastel-pink grossular garnets to 1.2 cm are nicely framed by green diopside and snow-white pectolite crystals. All of the garnets in the 3.5 cm long cluster are pristine. Pink Jeffrey garnets are not that common and this is a highly representative example of the species in nice combination.

Pectolite - Jeffrey mine (Jeffrey quarry; Johns-Manville mine), Asbestos, Les Sources RCM, Estrie, Québec, Canada

3.5 x 1.8 x 0.8 cm. Pectolite is the calcium analogue of serandite and is a member of the wollastonite group of mineral species. Superb serandites are synonymous with Mt. St-Hilaire, Quebec and superb pectolites are synonymous with the Jeffrey Mine of Quebec. This aesthetic specimen of glassy, tabular, colorless blades has a large single crystal with a beautiful, fan-like, diverging spray of smaller crystals on one side. This is a superb, pristine specimen from the Dr. Gary Hansen Collection and dates to the 1970s or early 80s.

Pectolite, Apophyllite-(KF) - Millington Quarry (Morris County Crushed Stone Co. Quarry; Tilcon Quarry), Bernards Township, Somerset Co., New Jersey, USA

7.5 x 5.8 x 4.2 cm. The now closed Millington Quarry is over 100 years old (it opened in 1895). Starting in the late 1970's the quarry reopened and started producing a large number of specimens. This piece has several pale greenish color radiating spherical aggregates of Pectolite measuring up to 2.1 cm with prismatic Apophyllite crystals on basalt. There is also one small gray-tan Calcite crystal inside the vug of Pectolite.

11.5 x 9.2 x 3.4 cm. A sculptural, classic cabinet combination specimen from one of the famous traprock basalt quarries at Paterson, New Jersey. Pearlescent, saddle-shaped heulandite crystals richly fill the showy vug and are nicely accented with radial sprays of snow-white pectolite and small crystals of calcite and apophyllite. Excellent, highly representative older material from the Mullane Collection and comes with an older faded label.
