den07-15 - green Witherite (nickel-colored) - $ 2250 Minerva Mine, Hardin County, Illinois, USA small cabinet, 9.3 x 7.2 x 7.1 cm
A rare specimen that I am told came from a small pocket in the mid 1960s , of a nickel-rich variety of witherite which causes the crystals to have a soft, pastel green color! This is a specimen I have long remembered as the best one I have seen for sale, which I sold first around 10 years ago and just recently was able to obtain again. I STILL have not seen comparable, and only 2 others that even come close, in the intervening decade. It has some contact on the left side of the main cluster, but that is natural and not damage per se. It still displays beautifully
T06-76 - Chloanthite (Nickel-Skutterudite) - $ 975 Schneeberg, Saxony, Germany miniature, 4.5 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm
An extremely fine miniature with very rich, extremely metallic, lustrous crystals to 7 mm completely covering the display face and cascading down the matrix. VERY FINE example of this old German classic! In person, this is a very 3-dimensional piece and it is MUCH MUCH BETTER IN PERSON as the metallic lustre and form make it hard to photograph. ex.
