A vein of massive yellow genthite, a Kaolinite-Serpentine group mineral related to chrysotile, in sandstone. From the noted collection of William Drown, whom according to the Mineralogical Record Archive on him was an umbrella manufacturer who used his fortune to amass a collection of some 6000 mineral specimens. His collection was kept by his family for a generation after his death and then donated in 1918.

Nepouite (green) and Quartz - Loma Peguera, Falcondo Plant, Bonao, Monsenor Nouel Prov,. Dominican Republic

This specimen consists mostly of neon green, botryoidal crusts of the very rare nickel, magnesium, silicate, nepouite. Associated with the nepouite are sparkling, minute clusters of quartz crystals. Never seen one for sale before, so I bought it, simple as that. Its a rare, pretty nickel mineral that doesn't cost a lot....and is from a neat locale. I wish I could get more!
