Just a really cute, unusual combo! 2.9 x 2.2 x 1.3 cm
A big, fat, sharp and gemmy apophyllite crystal, measuring 5 cm, in a nest of pearly stilbite bowties. NICE! 9.5 x 7.1 x 5.6cm
A VERY SHOWY and EXCELLENT CABINET plate of glassy, colorless, and translucent, blocky apophyllite crystals with lustrous, brown, tabular stilbite crystals from Santa Caterina, Minas Gerais, Brazil. Ex Lance Cook Collection. Apophyllite and stilbite from Brazil are VERY UNCOMMON and this is a good one, with essentially no damage. 11.3 x 6.5 x 2.6 cm
Emanating from a wreath of lustrous, cream colored, stilbite crystals, to 3.5 cm across, is a spear shaped, pristine, and transparent, light emerald green, fluorapophyllite crystal. The length of the fluorapophyllite crystal is 6.5 cm in length and it exhibits very good luster. The termination is RAZORsharp! This is more than just a very nice combo specimen - it is truly top shelf! Despite as many as I have seen, I was blown away by this one. This is an older piece obtained some 20 years ago at the Pandulena Hills Quarry, and sold only recently from the Bill and Elizabeth Moller collection. 7.6 x 6.6 x 2.9 cm
Zeolites and associated mineral species abound in the thick, basaltic, traprocks of India. But it is still exciting to see well formed minerals in combination from these deposits, and I buy special pieces when something is really unique such as the form and intense color of this apophyllite. In this natural basaltic vug we have a well formed, lustrous, translucent, emerald green fluorapophyllite crystal, 2.5 cm in length, surrounded by lustrous, cream colored heulandite crystals which reach 2 cm in length. 11.9 x 9.9 x 4.8 cm
Talk about gorgeous oddities! A core of splayed, fibrous white mesolite has been encapsulated by a later generation of unusual, light green apophyllite that completely covers the original ball of mesolite! The lustrous apophyllite must have been deposited slowly over time, giving it a frosted look from the many facets showing from each pinprick of apophyllite minutely crystallized on the surface like snow on the ground. In addition, slender hollow rods of apophyllite poke through the "icing", showing off their tetragonal symmetry. This was the best example I was shown, from a small and unique find. I have never seen such a piece in 20 years of looking at Indian minerals 6.8 x 6.2 x 5.8 cm
A spray of SUPERB, GEMMY, very lustrous crystals of apophyllite - a cut WAY above the standard stuff you see! 3.9 x 3.4 x 2.5cm
A WHOPPER plate of blocky green apophyllites, to 4 cm across the termination, with thick clusters of orangey-pink stilbite. The apophyllites have a whitish coating on ther terminations. BIG and SHOWY! 21.0 x 17.2 x 8.5cm
Despite the quantities of specimens coming from India, really GEMMY and BRIGHT apophyllite clusters such as this are still exceptional and prized! These crystals are clear as glass, beautifully terminated and ringed with creamy stilbites that add a wonderful accent. Prettier in person! 6.1 x 5.9 x 3.4cm
A very large plate of BIG, gemmy, lustrous apophyllite crystals, of the "blocky" style, to 3 cm across the face. Striations on the faces make these lustrous crystals really shimmer in the light. 21.5 x 10.3 x 5.8cm
I know that Indian Zeolite specimens are everywhere, but of all the colors that you see from India, you rarely get such a vibrant and eye catching color contrast such as this specime exhibits. Several large, lustrous, beautiful red/pink bladed Stilbite crystals measuring up to 3.0 cm intermixed with gemmy, glassy, blocky, yellowish-green Apophyllite crystals measuring up to 4.2 cm. Considering that the majority of Stilbite crystals rarely have color (typically white or tan), its a great joy to see Stilbite crystals that really stand out. This specimen is a from a pocket found about 3 years ago. I remember when the pieces came to Tucson, most collectors and dealers grabbed them as fast as possible. Please note there are a few small contacts around the periphery, but the piece is still in good shape. If youre a Zeolite collector, this is definitely one for you. If youre not a Zeolite collector, this is still a highly displayable, colorful, large cabinet specimen. 18.5 x 10.3 x 7.5cm
An EXCELLENT and showy specimen richly covered with royal-blue, micro crystals of kinoite and sparkly, colorless, apophyllite crystals from the well-known Christmas Mine of Arizona. 6.9 x 5.7 x 3.2 cm
A large, gemmy apophyllite crystal of textbook form, with superb luster, very carefully trimmed out. It is unusual to see a specimen simply highlighting a single fine, large crystal. 4.3 x 3.7 x 2.7cm
A whopper plate of GEMMY apophyllite crystals to 3.5 cm, on a bed of sparkly stilbite microcrystals and a few larger stilbite "books". 22.1 x 19.1 x 8.6cm
This specimen is FAR prettier in person - it just sparkles like crazy! You have these super-sparkly little apophyllites decorating sharp, lustrous quartz crystals, with tiny chlorite inclusions lending a slightly green tone. Flashy and beautiful! 8.7 x 6.7 x 5.9cm
