A very good Pennsylvania analcime, with sharp, lustrous snow-white crystals to 1.6 cm, nicely isolated on matrix. The old Collection label has “June ‘54” written on it, likely the date he acquired it from a "M. Brubaker" listed on the label. (ex. Fred Devito Coll.) 5.5 x 4.5 x 4 cm
15.5 x 10.4 x 8.5 cm. A fine, mounded, combination specimen from recent finds at Jalgaon, India. This specimen is capped by a 7.7 x 6.0 cm, double bowtie of pearlescent, pastel peach-pink stilbite blades. Gem-like, very glassy, blocky, pastel-green to colorless apophyllite crystals to 5.3 cm with modified corners and more stilbite crystals comprise the rest of this striking specimen. Some of the apophyllite crystal faces are beautifully striated, which is an excellent accent. Ex. George Feist Collection.
A beautiful and very aesthetic specimen of a VERY gemmy green apophyllite spray set dramatically on a bed of lustrous, bladed stilbite crystals from Jalgaon. These crystals are GLASSY and brilliant, of just super quality! 4.6 x 4.3 x 2.8 cm
A classic, old-time St. Andreasberg specimen of lustrous, sparkly and transparent pale-pink apophyllite crystals, which comes with a yellowed, old Schortmanns label. Pieces like this only come from old collections and usually are several hundred years old. VERY few are on the market in ANY quality. 7.9 x 6.6 x 4.2 cm
A very aesthetic specimen of a highly lustrous, gemmy and blocky zoned-green apophyllite crystal beautifully set on lustrous, pearly-white stilbite blades. 5.2 x 4.1 x 2.9 cm
24 x 22 x 5 cm. A magnificent giant plate composed entirely of superb Apophyllites and Stilbites. The gemmy Apophyllites range up to 6 cm in size, and the orange Stilbites up to about 3.6 cm. The luster is superb, and the richness of all the crystals on this plate makes it extraordinary before you even consider the size overall. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
5.2 x 4.2 x 3.8 cm. A rare and very well-crystallized Apophyllite-(KOH). The crystals range from blocky, highly lustrous prisms (up to 1.6 cm.) to bladed crystals in a beautiful rosette 2.4 cm across. Apophyllite-(KOH) is very rare throughout the mines of the Kalahari fields. To add even more interest, the Apophyllite-(KOH) rests on Kutnohorite, and there is an unknown yellow mineral inclusion, as well. Ex. Charlie Key stock.
5.8 x 5.6 x 2.6 cm. A superbly formed bowtie spray of the rare zeolite Goosecreekite. Most often you see well-formed Goosecreekite in radial aggregates, which are quite attractive and desireable. I have never seen the equivalent to this superb 1-inch spray, just set out on contrasting matrix so sharply. The crystals, which have a lovely and very uniform white color, also have a good luster which makes it sparkle like sugar as you move it in the light. It sits on a drusy Quartz matrix, along with numerous gemmy Apophyllites. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
8.1 x 8 x 4.7 cm. A fine combination piece of excellent mint green Apophyllite and bone-colored Stilbite. The Apophyllites, which range from 1 cm to an amazing 4 cm, are lustrous and partly gemmy. The Stilbite habits are bladed to the famous bowties, with superb luster, and most are about 4 cm in length. Both the Apophyllites and Stilbites are absolutely classic for their respective species. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
4.2 x 3.5 x 1.7 cm. A fine and aesthetic combination specimen from one of the closed quarries at Poona, India and the Jaime Bird Collection. An upright, pearlescent, colorless stilbite bulb looks like a tree or shrub and is beautifully complimented by a lustrous, prismatic, green apophyllite crystal resting against another stilbite blade. The crystals are set on the shard of mordenite matrix.
An extremely uncommon and quite beautiful Dalnegorsk combo specimen, featuring a thin, flat, transparent calcite crystal 7.5 cm across, standing on edge on matrix, with small, glittery apophyllites on the back and top edge. Mined last year at the Nikolaevsky Mine in Dalnegorsk. If you are tempted by the photos....it is MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, as it was so bright and cmtransparent it was really hard to shoot. 10 x 8.5 x 5 cm
9.8 x 7.2 x 7 cm. A truly exceptional combination piece with one of the finest Indian Calcites I have seen, lustrous Stilbites, and a nice green Fluorapophyllite. The centerpiece Calcite is a stunning 7.8 cm on the front edge, with superb luster and excellent gemminess. The front edge is also the main twinning plane. What makes the Calcite itself even more exceptional are the two wings, which appear to be twins of the very rare {0221} twinning law. Each occurs on opposing ends of the main twinning plane. The Stilbites are primarily bowties up to 3 cm with incredible luster, and the Fluorapophyllite is a combination of 2 cm green bladed crystals. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
A STRIKING and DRAMATIC LARGE CABINET specimen of a lustrous 6.0 cm wide salmon-pink stilbite rosette aesthetically set in a vug covered with lustrous, transparent and striated colorless apophyllite crystals from Nasik, India. The minor bit of peripheral damage is inconsequential to this magnficent specimen. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON, I assure you. Our lighting system could not capture the beauty of this very large specimen. 19.0 x 14.5 x 6.5 cm
A pearly 5-cm apophyllite crystal perched nicely on pink stilbite! The apoph is complete save for part of the rear-upper side which is contacted ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s 12 x 7 x 4.5 cm
9.0 x 8.2 x 7.2 cm. A striking and sculptural combination specimen from recent finds at Jalgaon, India. This fine, complete-all-around and pristine mounded piece is highlighted by large, very glassy, blocky and colorless apophyllite crystals and is beautifully accented with pearlescent, light peach, stilbite blades. The large apophyllite is 5.0 x 4.5 x 2.7 cm, has interesting modified corners, and has two layers, like a sandwich.
