CAR-41 - Molybdenite on Quartz - $ 1250 SOLD Beaverhead County, Montana, USA cabinet, 16.5 x 8.2 x 6.0 cm ex. Andrew Carnegie
A large specimen of matrix molybdenite crystals, from this important old mining district. This piece has historical and locality significance and it is actually the ONLY such specimen I have personally ever seen for sale. Easily visible in teh showcase to teh left of the fireplace, in about the middle position (right next to the orange-on-white Hilltop Wulfenite).
ES71 - Molybdenite - $ 750 Crown Point Mine, Chelan County, Washington, USA small cabinet, 9 x 6.4 x 4.1 cm ex. Ernie Schlichter
This huge crystal of mirror bright, silvery molybdenite sits on a contrasting matrix of massive white quartz and is just spectacular in appearance and impressiveness for the price - let alone the fact that it is HUGE for the locality or any other US moly. It apparently has been re-attached or stabilized to its matrix, which is of no consequence given the tight fit.
J11T-179 - Molybdenite - $ 1200 Allies Mine, Deepwater, NSW, Australia small cabinet, 6.7 x 5.0 x 2.9 cm
This dramatic cluster features some of the most robust and 3-dimensional crystals of molybdenite I have yet seen, with sharp edges instead of the usual flimsy, fragile, bendable crystals you see from most locales. It is a classic , oldtime piece, but of a style that makes it stand out from the others (similar to the difference between the rare robust covellites and the typical flimsy ones, there, too).
JWHITE-33 - Molybdenite - $ 25 SOLD Moly Hill, Abitibi, Quebec, Canada thumbnail, 2.5 x 1.9 x 0.1 cm ex. John White

LW77 - Molybdenite - $ 800 SOLD Kingsgate, New South Wales, Australia small cabinet, 6.1 x 4.6 x 4 cm ex. Dr. Eugene Meieran ex. Martin Lewadny
Exceptional example of Molybdenite! This crystal is about 1.3 cm thick, and the 5.5 cm face has superb luster and shows beautiful radial growth. It is certainly one of the flashiest large moly roses I have seen for this price range, and size range; and they are old classics hard to obtain today from this locality. Terrific provenance now, being from two well-known collections.
