One of the finest, most stylish, colorful thumbnails I have seen form this now-famous 1969 find! No more has been found there of quality since, and this complete thumber stands on its own two feet in any case! 2.2 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm
A really strange beast with drusy mimetite selectively covering some rounded cerussite crystals, themselves perched on a 3-dimensional hollow dolomite cast. Very attractive contrast and much more pretty and also 3-dimesnional in person! 6.7 x 5.4 x 4.5 cm
7.2 x 4.2 x 5 cm. This specimen hosts a gorgeous flowery cluster of mimetite crystals to 1 cm, gracefully curving in upon themselves, and centered in matrix. It is a very unique piece in overall appearance and is quite attractive in person. It is very 3-dimensional, and the mimetites are set off nicely. Ex. James and Marjorie Ferguson Collection.
This specimen is from the famous “Gem Pocket" of mimetite found in 1971 and not surpassed since by any mimetite from any location, according to most people who score such things (though China is giving them a good run). As you can imagine, they are highly desirable and hard to obtain after some 30 years. Just a handful are for sale in any given time, now. This specimen is among the largest crystals that would have been found at the time, certainly among the stoutest in girth. I am told there were only a dozen or so crystals of this calibre or better. Most surviving Gem Pocket specimens are small pieces with small crystals. THIS piece is the single largest gem pocket crystal that I have seen on the market, personally, or even heard about.I think this price is eminently reasonable for a specimen of this quality and size, compared to what the more dinky ones already go for, and I bought the collection in large part because it has this incredible mim which i regard as a "quick sell". MORE GEMMY IN PERSON, PLEASE NOTE! 2.6 x 1.7 x 1.2 cm
A FINE and VERY SHOWY, two-sided specimen of lustrous, pearlescent to hematite-tinted calcite rhombs festooned with hoppered, yellow to olive-green to brown mimetite crystals from the famous Santa Eulalia District of Mexico. This fine, highly displayable piece has very minimal damage. Old dealer stock of Dr. Gary Hansen and not shown since the early 1980s! 4.2 x 3.5 x 3.1 cm
An EXCELLENT and AESTHETIC, old-time Tsumeb specimen of beautiful, highly lustrous and striated, midnight-blue azurite crystals to 1.6 cm abundantly scattered on matrix with a rich covering of tiny, jackstraw, pastel-yellow mimetite needles. All of the major azurite crystals are pristine and overall, there is very minimal damage to this fine and showy piece. 8.2 x 5.9 x 2.5 cm
An aesthetic specimen of highly lustrous, light yellow sprays of elongated mimetite crystals on a bit of matrix from Tsumeb. A fine, showy specimen with very trivial damage. 3.4 x 2.7 x 2.5 cm
I do not know whether to call this calcite on mimetite or mimetite on calcite. Whatever the case - what you have here are intergrown rhombs of calcite and balls of yellow mimetite! You can see the rust-hued accents from the limonite as well. A fascinating old Santa Eulalia combo specimen! 7.9 x 4.4 x 3.4cm
Tsumeb is definitely the worlds most famous Copper mine, and one of the most classic localities in the world. Yellow Mimetites from Tsumeb are some of the most highly coveted specimens for collectors. This particular specimen features several bright canary yellow, lustrous, spherical aggregates of crystallized Mimetite measuring up to 9 mm on gossan matrix. A fine old classic from Tsumeb. 6.0 x 3.5 x 3.0cm
These bright orange mimetites caused a huge stir when they were discovered in China a few years back (they are long since mined out). This toenail specimen features bright, lustrous crystals to about 0.4 cm. 2.9 x 2.1 x 1.9cm
If you missed out on these very exciting bright orange-yellow mimetites from the find a few years back, here is a chance to pick up a nice thumber! They were when they came out, and they remain, quite desirable amongst collectors! 3.2 x 1.7 x 1.2cm
An aesthetic specimen of lustrous, translucent, olive-green mimetite prisms to 5 mm richly covering a mounded matrix of lustrous, translucent and colorless calcite rhombs from the famous Mina Ojuela of Mexico. A couple of broken mimetite crystals are minimally detracting from this fine piece. 5.3 x 3.4 x 2.3 cm
An excellent and showy Tsumeb specimen of gemmy, yellow mimetite needles to 7 mm liberally scattered on sugary, tan dolmite matrix. Very limited bruising on this fine piece. 9.5 x 7.5 x 4.0 cm
An aesthetic and superb Sam Nasser thumbnail of lustrous, tranparent, yellow wulfenite crystals with botryoidal, orange mimetite balls both on and WITHIN the wulfenite crystals. This fine piece is from the famous San Francisco Mine of Mexico. 2.5 x 2.3 x 1.5 cm
Lustrous orange mimetites have grown all around this dome-shaped matrix, with little calcite rhombs intergrown amongst them. An aesthetic example of a Santa Eulalia classic! However, I had NEVER seen such elongated, fine, Tsumeb-quality mimetites from Santa Eulalia. This one is just a whol enother level...and it SURELY is this locale, as the white rhomb calcites indicate. 4.3 x 3.2 x 3.0 cm
