Lustrous butterscotch-colored mimetites erupting from a contrasting matrix of stark white calcite rhombohedra! Nice! ex. Dr. Gary Hansen dealer stock and not shown since early 1980s. 4.4 x 3 x 2.5 cm
4 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm. A fine combination specimen of windowpane Wulfenites with Mimetite from the San Francisco Mine. This excellent specimen is no exception for this classic locality. The main 2.2 cm crystal is razor-sharp and gemmy with superb luster. The larger secondary windowpane has a bit of typical edge wear. The Mimetites are an exceptionally deep orange color. This is an excellent miniature from a world-famous locality. Ex. Richard Hauck Collection.
2.3 x 2 x 0.9 cm. Translucent, lemon yellow spheres of mimetite have aesthetically formed on a crust of limonite. The spheres get up to .5 cm across.
2.5 x 2.0 x 1.2 cm. A very attractive specimen of classic botryoidal yellow mimetite. Ex. Carl Davis Collection.
8 x 6 x 3 cm. Numerous zoned crystals up to 1 cm. The piece is very attractive, with the lustrous yellow/caramel crystals distributed very evenly over the entire specimen like a ribbon. Aesthetic, and from a major mine for the species to be sure; but beyond that this is subtly more important in that it has crystallized mimetite. Most all of the mimetites from Mexico you see are botryoidal. Ex. Leithauser Collection.
2.7 x 2.4 x 1.9 cm. This specimen is from the 1971 Gem Pocket. A fine specimen from one of Tsumeb’s most famous finds. The Mimetites are a beautiful gemmy yellow, showing the long prismatic habit that is so attractive. The two longest crystals are about 1.2 cm long. Ex. Wendell E. Wilson Collection.
6.0 x 5.0 x 2.5 cm. A rare and fine combination plate from the Tsumeb Mine. Glassy, mostly transparent, smoky-colored wulfenite crystals with sharp beveled edges are richly and aesthetically scattered on the matrix. Bundles of lustrous, yellowish-tan mimetite are concentrated at the top of the piece and are a beautiful compliment. The largest wulfenite, at 9 mm, is aesthetically framed by two mimetite crystal clusters.
4.3 x 3.9 x 3.1 cm. A fine mimetite from the famous late 1960s find at San Pedro Corralitos, Mexico. Matte-finish, translucent, yellow-orange botryoids richly and aesthetically cover the front and back of the sturdy, sculptural, gossan matrix. Highly representative, classic material from this find and nearly pristine. Ex. Dennis Mullane Collection.
A pretty specimen of honey-colored clusters of mimetite, with a sparkly luster, from the classic Santa Eulalia locality. 4.5 x 4.3 x 2.5 cm
8.9 x 6.8 x 3.9 cm. A striking specimen with lustrous, pseudocubic, butterscotch-colored wulfenite crystals scattered on a very sturdy, 3-dimensional gossan matrix and beautifully complimented by botryoidal green mimetite from a new find at the Mina Ojuela at Mapimi, Mexico. The largest wulfenite crystals (2) are 8 mm and they are doubly terminated. This fine piece has very few broken crystals and there even little, white calcite rhombs as a very nice accent. This is a new find, from just before the 2008 Denver Show. The exact mine location is Level 6, San Juan Poniente vein.
4.9 x 3.8 x 2.4 cm. Small but sharp, bright crystals of wulfenite to several mm in size, perched atop a matrix of drusy mimetite. Classic locality material. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
5.2 x 4.8 x 3.3 cm. An unusual piece. This specimen of very heavy baryte blades, in a thick cluster, is dusted with powdery-orange little clusters of mimetite crystals. Very sharp contrast makes them leap out, and it is a very displayable piece different from the usual wulfenites you might get from this mine. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
5.6 x 3.1 x 2.1 cm. Superb, gemmy, yellow mimetite crystals to 7 mm are richly and attractively scattered on the sulfide matrix plate and are very nicely complimented by the multitude of sharp, oxide-stained quartz crystals on this uncommon and excellent combination piece from the Tsumeb Mine. The mimetites, while small, are way above average for this renowned locale. Well-crystallized quartz is relatively uncommon from Tsumeb and to have sharp crystals associated with gemmy mimetites, is indeed, exceptional and rare.
5.3 x 2.9 x 2.1 cm. Scintillating, gemmy, yellow-orange mimetite crystals to 1.0 cm cover the sculptural matrix on this fine specimen from the well-known Chinese finds of 2002-2003. These crystals have outstanding gemminess and lustre. Ex. Wes Parker Collection.
7.7 x 4.4 x 4 cm. A superb small cabinet plumbogummite specimen, for its rich color, completeness all around, and 3-dimensional form. It is a rich specimen with a velvety look to it. Very nice "fingers" representing mimetite crystals that are coated, and partially pseudomorphed, to plumbogummite.
