BEM-56 - Meionite var. Mizzonite - $ 50 Pianura, Campagna, Italy (TYPE LOCALITY) small cabinet, 6.6 x 5.8 x 2.0 cm
Small crystals embedded in massive matrix, a representative locality example. It is possible the locality has a different name today, as I cannot find a reference to it. The species formerly known as Mizzonite is a varietal/ member of the Marialite-Meionite series with a dominant Marialite fraction. ex. American Museum of Natural History , Clarence Bement collection, donated in 1910. this is the type locality for marialite.

10.5 x 8.9 x 7.0 cm. A dramatic, 3.8 x 2.1 cm, lustrous, translucent, brown vesuvianite crystal dominates a large vug filled with smaller vesuvianites and white blades of the uncommon calcium silicate meionite in a sculptural matrix. This fine and uncommon cabinet specimen is from the Ais Dome of Namibia. This is a very large crystal from this locale.
MD-53866 - Meionite, Quartz - - Archived Bolton Lime Quarries (Bolton quarry; Whitcomb quarry; Hildreth quarry), Bolton, Worcester Co., Massachusetts, USA small cabinet, 7.2 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm
Meionite (scapolite) crystals in a quartz matrix. 7.2 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm The tips of the scapolite crystals are cleaved, but it certainly does not detract from the dramatic effect of this scapolite "cross".
