3.4 x 3.2 x 2.1 cm. This is a superb, sharp, 9mm matlockite crystal in matrix of galena. Matlockite is exceptionally rare, especially in nice fat crystals such as this. From the type locality.

A very rich, and VERY rare, large specimen of matlockite featuring platy yellow crystals to just over 1 cm perched in a very heavy cerussite matrix. Is it the prettiest matlockite in the world? No. But it IS a very rich, very showy piece overall. Minor yellow mineralization coats the back (hemimorphite?). This is from the type locality for the specioes.

TYPE LOCALITY 1851, for the species....this is a superb, sharp, 9mm matlockite crystal in matrix of galena. Matlockite is exceptionally rare, especially in nice fat crystals such as this. While on close examination it has a contact on one corner, it is still impressive visually, and for the size and color.
