A SUPEB cluster of blocky, striated, moderately lustrous, black manganbabingtonite crystals aesthetically set on a very complimentary matrix of translucent balls of bladed, sea-green prehnite. This outstanding combination piece is from recent finds at the Ganzhizhou Mine of China. Manganbabingtonite is an ULTRA-RARE silicate and this is a really good one. MD-51178 - Quartz, Manganbabingtonite - - Archived Fengjiashan Mine (Daye Copper mine), Edong Mining District, Daye Co., Huangshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, China cabinet, 10.5 x 6 x 4 cm
This is a unique specimen, like none I have seen so far from China, as it features a Japan Law twin quartz included with a scattering of microcrysatllized babingtonite! The resulting complexity of the crystal is really interesting, and stands out from every other jap twin I have seen. I love it! The major crystal is 4 cm across. There are also half a dozen smaller twins present, though not as richly ncluded or as large. 10.5 x 6 x 4 cm
