Lorenzenite - Flora Mt, Lovozero Massif, Kola Peninsula, Murmanskaja Oblast', Northern Region, Russia

I have seen many of these when they first came out and can say this is a good one; and this sharp, doubly-terminated crystal, 2.5 cm tip to tip, has wonderful lustre for the species. It makes for a not-as-ugly-as-usual display-quality miniature, too! 3.6 x 2.9 x 2.5 cm

3.3 x 2.0 x 1.0 cm. A LARGE, sharp, doubly terminated lorenzenite crystal. This lustrous, chocolate-brown crystal is nearly as large as was ever found at this famous locality. Lorenzenite is a RARE titanium silicate and this is a VERY GOOD one.

5.0 x 4.4 x 3.1 cm. Lorenzenite is a rare sodium titanium silicate found in pegmatites and nepheline syenites. A lustrous, sharp, 3.3 cm, doubly terminated, chocolate-brown lorenzenite is nicely set in matrix on this excellent specimen from the John Barlow Collection. There is just a bit of contacting on the terminations, but they are all there. Highly representative of this rare species and locality.
