3.0 x 2.6 x 1.9 cm. Liroconite from Cornwall is a rare species, with most specimens being found in the mid-1800s. This piece, though small, is rich overall and has crystals of a fantastic quality in sharpness and blue color saturation. Liroconite of this quality has not been found in over 125 years. Although there are some damaged zones, there are many good areas too, protected in the folds of matrix here.
Liroconite was discovered at this locality in 1825 and , after another dozen years or so, liroconite in this quality was never to be found again. Obviously it remains one of the Holy Grails of both rarities and UK collectors, and they are seldom seen on the market. This specimen is composed of nearly solid liroconite and chalcophyllite, massive, on which is perched a shockingly isolated and well-formed 7 mm crystal of liroconite. It is solidly connected to the matrix in back, but from teh front appears to float off a projection of the host matrix. 3.75 x 2.75 x 1.6 cm
A CLASSIC, OLD-TIME and very rich specimen of lustrous, dark blue clinoclase crystals, with a VERY SPECIAL BONUS of a scattering of light blue liroconite crystals on gossan matrix. Liroconite is one of the most sought after and rare Cornwall copper minerals. these were found in the mid-1800s and in any quality are super-rare! 4.7 x 3.3 x 2.4 cm
A rich and colorful miniature with sharp crystals to 5mm, of the best color. Specimens of ANY calibre are extremely rare as these came out in the mid-1800s, and this is a pretty one, rich and fine in quality even if the xls are smallish, at a price that doesn't break the bank. 4.4 x 4 x 3.8 cm
A stellar specimen with MESMERIZING color! this has the mos tintense blue I have seen before on a specimen o f liroconite, almost neon and metallic! It was mined in the mid-1800s, and such pieces are very scarce today. This one, although small in crystal size, is rich overall and simply blows you away for sheer beauty. It is an extremely fine miniature, from these long-gone mines. 4.0 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm
This mine produced the world’s finest liroconite specimens more than 150 years ago. Nestled in a quartz vug are several, intensely blue, very lustrous, liroconite crystals, to .75 cm across. This is a fine, very old, specimen and almost never found in dealers stocks. The colro intensity and saturation here are top quality, and it is a rich specimen for the price compared to what I have seen over in Munich, in Euro pricing, especially

This mine produced the world's finest liroconite specimens more than 150 years ago in the early to mid 1800s. Perched nicely here on quartz crystals are several, intensely blue, very lustrous, liroconite crystals, to 5mm across. This is a pretty very old, specimen almost never found in dealers stocks. The color intensity and saturation here are top quality, and it is a rich specimen for the price compared to what I have seen over in Munich, in Euro pricing, especially . I buy EVERY GOOD ONE of these I see, that I can get ahold of - and i've had a whopping dozen or so in 20 years!? That tells you something of the rarity.Joe Budd Photos
