A large specimen with electric-yellow , sharp euhedral crystals of legrandite from the famous finds here in the 1970s. Crystals exceed 1 cm and have GREAT color, just riveting in person. Rare in such size and overall richness!
1.6 x 1.2 x .8 cm. Legrandite is one of the holy grails of Mexican minerals, and this has all the intense yellow color and fabulous luster that you could ask for. What is also attractive about this thumbnail is the front part of the cluster is a beautiful bladed crystal, while the back is a series of the more classic radial sprays of the crystals.
2.3 x 1.0 x 0.9 cm. A aesthetic thumbnail cluster of gemmy and lustrous, golden-yellow legrandite crystals from Mina Ojuela. A highly representative specimen of this Holy Grail Mexican species. The termination on the right crystal is broken, but it is not a distraction, as you can see. Ex. George Elling Collection.
5.5 x 5.0 x 3.2 cm. Isolated, gemmy and lustrous sprays of rich yellow legrandite needles are aesthetically jackstrawed in the vug on very sturdy contrasting gossan matrix on this EXCELLENT specimen from the famous Mina Ojuela. The long vertical spray is 2.5 cm.
1.7 x 1.3 x .7 cm. Bright and highly lustrous Legrandite thumb that had all you could ask for in a specimen. The complex crystal has brilliant luster, classic Legrandite sun-yellow color, and it is partially gemmy. The complex and sharp termination adds even more to the aesthetics, which are outstanding.
2.0 x 1.8 x 0.7 cm. This stunning gem crystal has an actual gemmy area in its tip, and is sharply terminated in a way uncommon for the species. This is from early 1980s finds, and is a beautiful piece. Small bits of damage at the top, which detract a little from value but not from the visual pizzazz at a glance. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
2.2 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm. Lustrous, partially gemmy, golden yellow legrandite blades form an excellent and showy thumbnail cluster from the famous Mina Ojuela. Legrandite is a Holy Grail species from Mina Ojuela, along with purple adamite and scorodite. The crystal terminations are contacted, not damaged, per se. This is a highly representative example for the species and locality.
9.5 x 4.5 x 4.2 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, golden-yellow legrandite crystals to 1.2 cm richly and attractively cover gossan matrix excellent specimen from the famous Mina Ojuela. This is a large, very rich and fine specimen for the species and locality and is highly representative.
2.7 x 0.4 x 0.3 cm. A gemmy and lustrous, golden yellow legrandite blade from the famous Mina Ojuela of Mexico. Certainly a Holy Grail Mexican species. This is a fine, isolated and long crystal and is certainly not compromised by the contacted termination on the back. Highly representative of this important species.
6.5 x 4.3 x 3.0 cm. Legrandite is a Holy Grail species for Mexico and Mina Ojuela collectors, along with purple adamite and scorodite. SELDOM are specimens available with a LARGE vug COMPLETELY filled with GEMMY and lustrous, golden-yellow legrandite crystals on a sturdy gossan matrix. The crystals reach 5 mm. This is an EXCELLENT, LARGE, VERY RICH and highly representative specimen from this famous locality. The cute, smaller vug filled with legrandite crystals at one end, is a real bonus.
4.4 x 3.3 x 2.1 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, golden-yellow legrandite crystals to 7 mm are attractively scattered on both the front and back of the vuggy gossan matrix on this excellent and showy specimen from FLOR DE LA PENA MINE...not from the more famous Mina Ojuela. Legrandite, purple adamite and scorodite are Holy Grail species from this famous locality and for Mexico. This is a fine specimen for the species and locality and is highly representative of material from this TYPE LOCALITY, found 50 years prior to its discovery in a lower level of Mapimi, later on! The combination of crystal form and matrix is distinct. Ex. George Elling Collection.
3 x 2.6 x 1.6 cm. A very fine fan of Legrandite crystals, gemmy and a pretty deep yellow-lemon color. The crystals are tightly packed in the spray, and the longest is 1.7 cm long. Overall a rare size and quality for a cluster of legrandite, from the mid-1980s. Ex. Charlie Key.
2.8 x 0.6 x 0.3 cm. This specimen is a fantastic rich canary yellow crystallized legrandite “spray†showing gem transparency along the edges.
1.8 x 1.4 x 0.7 cm. A gemmy and lustrous cluster of golden-yellow legrandite crystals perched on gossan matrix. Ex. George Elling Collection.
