Superb Lapis crystal with incredibly rich color saturation, complete on one side and contacted (flat, naturally) in the back. The pics will tell you all you need to know about this juicy crysatl. This was obviously one of the earlier ones to come out, and few today have such color.

A fantastic specimen from a classic locality. This large modified crystal has the deep azure-blue color and vitreous luster desired in this species, and, at 4.5 cm, it is far larger than the classic 3 cm crystals referred to in V. 22, P. 216 of the MR.
J08-09 - Lazurite - $ 600 SOLD Sar-E-Sang, Kokscha Valley, Badakshan Province, Afghanistan small cabinet, 6.5 x 5 x 4 cm
Lazurite, also know as lapis lazuli, is often used in jewelry and carving in its massive form. But it is rarely found in sharp, well-formed crystals; when the uncommon crystals are found, they tend to be rather lumpy looking, with perhaps a few good faces and a partly "melted" look. This 2.5-cm crystal, however, is sharp with good faces all the way around. It is well exposed sitting atop the laboriously prepped matrix of stark white contrasting marble – you can see nearly the entire crystal. The crystal was chipped out by physical means, so there are some chisel lines in the marble tha tneed to be removed - it would cost me over $100 to do so , so i thought i'd give it a chance to be taken at the lower price first, since its not a big deal in context to remove those and i'd rather try to give a bargain than add to the cost basis. Classic of fine form and quality for the locality!
MD-119305 - Lazurite - - Archived Sar-e-Sang District, Koksha Valley (Kokscha; Kokcha), Badakhshan (Badakshan; Badahsan) Province, Afghanistan miniature, 3.6 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm.
3.6 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm. Lazurite is the true name for lapis lazuli (there is also a completely different mineral called lazulite, which is not related to lapis lazuli, but often confuses people for obvious reasons). Lazurite is found in good quantity in its massive form, but rarely in good crystals, which is why it is sought-after by collectors in specimens such as this, with isolated crystals in contrasting, stark white marble. There are two 1.2-cm, intergrown crystals here, side by side.

5.4 x 3.8 x 2.2 cm. Lapis Lazuli, whose true name is lazurite, is difficult to find in euhedral crystals.
