Mineral Specimens with Langite

13.3 x 7.1 x 2.3 cm. A very large and rich specimen of the rare hydrated copper sulfate langite, from Eastern Europe. It is better known from the type locality of Cornwall, England, and from Chile, though specimens have also come from this locality and another called Spania Dolina in Slovakia. Much of the display face of this specimen is covered with these deep turquoise-colored microcrystals.
7.1 x 4.7 x 3.9 cm. Langite is a RARE hydrated copper sulfate hydroxide, found almost exclusively in these druses of small crystals. It is formed from the oxidation of copper sulfides, and was first described in specimens from Cornwall, England.
5.3 x 4.7 x 1.5 cm. An UNCOMMONLY RICH and SHOWY specimen of scintillating, greenish-blue langite microcrystals from a small new find in the Slovak Republic.
5.2 x 4.0 x 3.0 cm. A very showy specimen of sparkly bright, powder-blue langite microcrystals richly encrusting matrix on this excellent specimen from an uncommon Arizona locality - the San Juan Mine of Cochise County, near Bisbee. The langite may be devilline, which has a very similar composition, form and color. Ex. George Feist Collection.
5.9 x 4.0 x 4.0 cm. An UNCOMMONLY RICH and SHOWY specimen of scintillating, turquoise-blue langite microcrystals from a small new find in the Slovak Republic that I found at Munich. The INTENSE color saturation of the copper sulfate will liven up any collection.

10.9 x 10.3 x 5.4 cm. A beautiful display specimen of rich electric, greenish-blue micro crystals of Langite on matrix from this very historic locality. This district has recently produced some new and exciting Langite specimens, and they are very popular among collectors due to their enchanting color. This piece was collected in 2007, and the color truly catches your eye from across the room. Ex. Brian Kosnar Collection.
6.8 x 2.8 x 2.1 cm. An uncommonly rich and fine specimen of scintillating, turquoise-blue langite microcrystals from a small 2006 find in Slovakia. The intense color saturation of the hydrated copper hydroxide sulfate is superb.
How many of THESE have you seen around? Langite is a hydrated basic sulfate of copper, first noted in England in the 19th century, and named after the Viennese physicist V. von Lang. Specimens just are not around on the market. This one was purchased long ago from a dealer in Berkeley, California, and ended up in the Hauck Collection, along with lots of other rare minerals. 8.4 x 6.0 x 2.7cm
