4.9 x 3.9 x 2.3 cm. Kolbeckite is a very rare scandium-rich phosphate mineral species (and there are not many such species). This is from a classic occurrence, and features relatively large spherical aggregates of microcrystals to just over 1mm in size, nicely isolated and so easily eye-visible. This is, for the material, extremely rich.

A 1.0 mm, pastel-green spheroid of the ultra-rare scandium phosphate kolbeckite nicely perched on the side of matrix from Austria. Fragments of blue kolbeckite crystals are scattered on the front and back of the matrix. Scandium minerals are extremely rare, and kolbeckite almost unseen in specimens of quality where you can see the xls with naked eye 3.2 x 2.4 x 1.5 cm
