This rare material came out only once in the 60s and has not been seen since - another fine old Arizona rarity out of the Nasser collection! 2.7 x 2.5 x 1.8 cm
Kinoite is a rare Copper Calcium Silicate, and some of the best and most well-known specimens of this material come from this locality. This piece has a coverage on BOTH sides of the specimen of light blue to deep blue Kinoite associated with sparkling colorless Apophyllite crystals on matrix. A great display piece of this classic and amazingly beautiful material from the United States. 5.7 x 4.3 x 2.5cm
A large and probably fairly old plate of brilliant microcrystals of the rare mineral Kinoite, sprinkled with tiny sparkling white apophyllite. Such large plates are only very rarely seen. Joe Budd Photos.

The type locality for Kinoite is a drillhole from the Helvetia area of Arizona. However, the Christmas mine material made the mineral available to collectors. This is an especially rich and deep blue specimen of the mineral. It just does not get any better than this for color and quality! Also, its a relatively large piece for this top quality style.
