5.0 x 4.4 x 4.1 cm. This is a great combination piece containing 5 minerals. The most surprisingly spectacular are the blood red Wulfenite crystals in a prismatic habit, up to 1 mm in size sitting on a carpet of green velvet Malachite. Wulfenite is rare in Katanga (only 2 valid localities for this huge province) and in Musonoi they are at their best. They are associated with well terminated and bright yellow Kasolite crystals reaching 2 mm in size. Some are showing phantom growth. Also present are green, transparent platy Torbernite crystals reaching 4 mm on edge. The edges of the Torbernite are worth a closer look - some of them are the matrix for very small Guilleminite crystal clusters. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 1990’s. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. Musonoi is the Type Locality for Guilleminite. Nothing has come out of Katanga for more than 15 years, except for Malachite and Chrysocolla.
A rich specimen with beautiful neon-orange fiery crystals of kasolite easily eye-visible! There are small yellow crystals associated, probably Guillemanite. 5 x 5 x 3.5 cm
A satisfactory representative specimen for both species, with eye-visible crystals of beautiful kasolite on matrix of torbernite 3.6 x 2.8 x 2.5 cm
This is an unusually good display specimen of large Vandenbrandeite crystals, well isolated on matrix! Well developed dark green Vandenbrandeite crystal gathered together in unusual "bowtie" shapes, with small yellow Kasolite flakes decorating them. Kasolite occurs in Musonoi in this form and is easily recognizable because it shows a highly pearly lustre. Some small yellowish frosted Barite crystals are associated. The Vandenbrandeite bowties reach 5 mm, quite significant.
Exceptional specimen of orange Curite and Kasolite with green Metatorbernite. The curite forms needles who are filling the spaces between and sits on the huge Metatorbernite crystals. It is associated with Kasolite in blocky crystals, unusually good also for this species. The matrix consists of massive Metatorbernite. This is an extraordinary fine piece of this not-often seen mineral. Truly unique for the size and beauty, I think. Shinkolobwe is the type locality for Curite and Kasolite both, making this a more significant specimen in science as well as just for the beauty. We have not seen a richer specimen of crysatllized examples like this.
This is a puzzle! It is a Great combo piece containing 5 minerals. Fantastic under the scope, you can look for hours to all what is hiding on this specimen. This specimen was recovered during the removal of the U-dump in the early 90ís. Musonoi has ceased producing minerals since then. Musonoi is the Type Locality for Guilleminite. Take advantage of this offer because nothing is coming out of Katanga anymore since more than 15 years, except for Malachite and Chrysocolla.
