BRIGHT crystals that are so sharp and lustorus you would think them to be magnetite...for quality, amazing for the species. Additionally, for both isolation and aesthetics, this is a superior miniature display specimen of the species. Taken together, Charlie felt this was the finest example he had seen in his decades in South African mineral dealing.
This specimen is the largest and richest jacobsite I have ever had to offer, far more rich than anything that I had back 5 years or so when i handled much of the Von Bezing collection or more recently part of the Charlie Key kalahari collection. It is almost completely covered in jet-black, lustrous, SHARP octohedral jacobsites, and glitters with black sparkle. A pretty black rock, eh?

A relatively large, sharp, and (i am told by those who know more than I ) pretty good crystal of this rarity! Cahrlie , a New Jersey native and specialist, was very impressed by these crystals and kept them around for at least the last 30 years, after getting them in an old collection. This one is particularly 3-dimensional and impressive. Some might say impressively ugly, but they are prettier than most such crystals due to the accenting zincite color. The manganosite under a thin jacobsite coating is unaltered/unoxidized and green.

Really sharp, bright to matte-finish jacobsite crystals to 2mm set in a vug in matrix from a famous location for jacobsite, Iron Knob, South Australia. Rare spinel group mineral. 2.5 x 2.1 x 1.9 cm
Jacobsite is described in the Cairncross book Manganese Adventure as being very rare and only seldom occurring as small sub-mm octohedral crystals in protected vugs. THESE, however, are freestanding, SHARP, lustrous crystals to 3 mm in size aethetically arranged on a contrasting matrix of lizardite and minute garnets! 6 x 4 x 3 cm
