Super thumbnail! This elegant, curved single spinel twin is just mesmerizing. Very aesthetic. 1.3 x .6 x .3 cm
Bright lustrous crystal of Gold showing a sharp, elongated octohedron form! MUCH better i nperson 1.5 x .6 x .5 cm
Attractive and curvaceous nugget that is composed of compressed Gold crystals. This seems to be an elongated octohedron, curved and hollowed on one side. A really unique, shapely, gold thumbnail quite different from venezuelan material! 1.8 x .9 x .6 cm
Cluster of highly compressed Gold crystals that has the look of recumbent folding. The contrast between the bright luster and the interior of the folds really makes this specimen stand out. A very nice thumbnail. 1.2 x .8 x .6 cm
By any standards, this is a magnificent Gold specimen. Just look at those razor-sharp skeletal ribs that are so well preserved from the original HUGE hoppered crystals that were simply compressed. You can easily see both the rounded surfaces of the cubes and a few sharp crystal edges. The hoppered ribs following the octohedral lines give this the look on a swirling tornado. Amazing. A truly world class gold specimen and for nevada all the more so! This was one of the two outstanding specimens in the lot, which the collector had obtained by prospecting almost every year for the last 30 years! 2.7 x 1.4 x .6 cm
Attractive curved nugget with very good color and a bright rich luster. It is actually a very rounded octohedron as you can see more clearly in person. 1.3 x .8 x .6 cm
Very nice specimen with good color and excellent luster. The specimen was once probably a more 3-dimensional piece but after geological time spent being compressed and swirled into the placers, it now clearly shows the remnants of at least one .6 cm compressed octohedron, if not two intergrown. 1.3 x .7 x .4 cm
A VERY RICH, AESTHETIC and uncommon specimen of lustrous, hackly gold in milky quartz from Nova Scotia, Canada! VERY SELDOM do you see a Nova Scotia gold with this richness. 17 grams. 3.5 x 2.1 x 1.8 cm
A brilliant, classic leaf gold cluster prominently displayed on matrix, well-trimmed. This is a true classic and very important because it retains a specific mine name - most such informaiton is usually lost to time. This was probably mined in the 1800s 3.0 x 2.4 x 2.0 cm
A gorgeous, hefty, unusually thick and sturdy mass of crystalline gold from this rare old locale! It is a very 3-dimensional, 360-degree, sculptural piece, and it weighs 18 grams. It retains a small bit of attached matrix. ex. RH Beddome collection. 4.2 x 2.9 x 1.8 cm
A very attractive "leaf gold" that looks like a leaf, from this old classic locale. It was confirmed for Mark that it is Musariu Mine by the association, and from having been compared in person to specimens in European museum collections. This specimen gives you a good visual area for hte price, and is totally classic of the common Transylvania style. It could be cleaned and brightened, but i like the old look of it. 4.0 x 3.1 x 0.4 cm
A superior, sharp, brilliant gold crystal measures 6 mm across, and is perched in contrasting matrix. This is exceptional for the quality of the crystallization and from a hard-to-get locale! 4 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm
4.5 x 2.4 x 1.6 cm. From a small find that Rob Sielecki brought to the Denver show some years ago, this is a gorgeous leaf gold on calcite matrix. The brightness is amazing; it is literally like gold foil, super-reflective. This is what I call "crystallized leaf gold" because although the shape and thinness at first glance indicate a leafy gold without form, closer inspection shows flattened trigons and definite structure to the foil-thick leaf. It has amazing, tinfoil lustre and is incredibly beautiful.
Elnogated spinel-twinned gold crystals, 2 cm tall, twirl and writhe atop this matrix, making for a very delicate and appealing miniature with unusual eye appeal. It is not your average Eagle's nest piece! 3.5 x 2.6 x 0.9 cm
OUTSTANDING, FULL-SIZED THUMBNAIL of world class calibre....the pics say it all! Few gold thumbnails , for sheer quality combined with display aesthetics, have such visual impact. This is top percentile, and quite sturdy i should add 2.9 x 1.4 x 0.6 cm
