A huge crystal for the species, not the largest known but among the better large crystals for aesthetics and form, I think you can say. When strongly backlit, this is translucent. In a case, it shows remarkable, sharp symmetry that is immediately recognizable if you do a doubletake and realize you are not looking at a thumbnail here.

MCW40 - Genthelvite with Mn-Neptunite - $ 1200 SOLD
Mont St. Hilaire, Quebec, Canada
thumbnail, 2 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm

Sorry, we have no images of this specimen at present.

A remarkable specimen of unusually large Genthelvite crystals to over 1 cm, with rich translucent grass-green color! Unusually attractive display-quality example of this often-earthy and ugly mineral species, PLUS it is of significant size and quality - what better combo is there?!

A superb example of this very rare species, from a single pocket collected about 2 years ago that features unusually large, unusually translucent, unusually pretty pastel green crystals. This specimen has one fairly clean repair to the backside of the main crystal, as shown in the lower photo. 2.1 x 1.7 x 1.5 cm

This is an extremely rare, very large crystal of the REE species Genthelvite . It is so rare that I am aware of only a handful from any location, notably MSH in Quebec, and of only a few other crystals from this locale which is now famous for other REE mineral species such as bastnaesite and parisite. It is the only one of quality, that I have seen for sale recently, in fact. Rightmost photo shows it backlit. 2.1 x 1.7 x 0.8 cm

This locality is better known for the world’s finest bastnaesite crystals. However, this rare, zinc, beryllium, silicate, sulfide, in matrix is a pretty special specimen, too. A single, lustrous, brown, crystal of genthelvite, 1.0 cm across, is nestled in a vug. I have seen only a few from the locality. On eimagines many are sold in error as zircon or some other more common species. 6.9 x 4.4 x 3.2 cm

Perched in a small vug in the matrix are two lustrous, brown crystals, to 1.0 cm across, of the rare zinc, beryllium, silicate, sulfide, genthelvite. The unusual chemistry that helped create bastnaesite has also created this rare species. 4.6 x 4.3 x 4.2 cm

A superb example of this very rare species, from a single pocket collected about 2 years ago that features unusually large, unusually translucent, unusually pretty pastel green crystals. This specimen has one fairly clean repair to the backside of the main crystal, as shown in the lower photo. Hence, it is priced at $250 instead of $1000. Still, it is relatively a bargain and both displays well and hosts a major crystal for the species.
