MD-112573 - Fluororichterite - - Archived Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada miniature, 4.4 x 3.1 x 1.2 cm
Just a darned fine example of this rock-forming mineral, with good lustre, good sharp termination, and good form. You almost never see these occur so beautifully-crystallized and so the mineral is often dismissed as non-worthy of a fine collection. The cluster is also a floater. 4.4 x 3.1 x 1.2 cm
MD-169909 - Fluororichterite - - Archived Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada cabinet, 11.8 x 6.8 x 4.7 cm.
11.8 x 6.8 x 4.7 cm. Nestled in a matrix of ivory colored feldspar, probably nepheline, are several crystals of fluororichterite, the largest of which is doubly terminated, black with good luster, and measures 5.2 cm in length. Fluororichterite is a sodium calcium, magnesium, silicate, fluoride.
MD-184754 - Fluororichterite - - Archived Earle's Farm Fluororichterite occurrence, Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada small cabinet, 9.0 x 6.0 x 1.1 cm.
9.0 x 6.0 x 1.1 cm. Fluororichterite is a rarely crystallized amphibole group mineral. This is a large, pristine, doubly-terminated, complete all-around crystal nicely accented by a bit of feldspar. The flattened, lustrous, mottled brown, compound crystal is sharply terminated at the top. The basal termination is broken, but healed. Ex. Marty Lewadny Collection.
MD-208776 - Fluororichterite - - Archived Earle's Farm Fluororichterite occurrence, Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada miniature, 4.3 x 3.1 x 1.1 cm.
4.3 x 3.1 x 1.1 cm. Richterite (Sodium Calcium Magnesium Iron Silicate Hydroxide), which is sometimes called soda tremolite, is closely related to tremolite. It basically is the sodium rich version of tremolite which is calcium rich. Another closely related mineral is ferrorichterite, which has replaced the magnesium with iron. Yet another related mineral is fluororichterite, of which this specimen is a fine example, enriched in fluorine by replacing some or all of the hydroxides. This is a fine representative for the species - large and doubly-terminated. Ex. Consie Prince Collection.
MD-280570 - Fluororichterite, Calcite - - Archived Earle's Farm Fluororichterite occurrence, Wilberforce, Monmouth Township, Haliburton Co., Ontario, Canada small cabinet, 6.6 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm.
6.6 x 4.4 x 3.8 cm. Fluororichterite is a very rare amphibole group species. This fine combination specimen is from the well-known Earleās Farm occurrence in Ontario. Brilliant, grayish-black, preferentially striated fluororichterite prisms are set in contrasting calcite matrix. The prominent large crystal in front is 4.7 cm and is doubly terminated, with no damage. Highly representative combo material from this noted locale.
