A SHARP, SUPER-GEMMY, phantomed crystal from this remote locality! Cleaved and partially rehealed in back, sharp as hell in front. In fact, it is the sharpest large crystal I have seen from the locality. 11 x 8 x 4.6 cm
14.5 x 7.9 x 2.9 cm. A large plates of sharp, translucent octahedrons with unique purple and green tones, in contrasting stark white quartz. The crystals on this curved, cabinet plate measure to 2.7 cm. All of the crystals on this fine plate are purple, except the one on the bottom left, which is purple and green.
WOW! This is a SUPER-SHARP 3 cm transparent crystal perched on contrasting matrix! Not a ding on it. Note the royal-violet thin purple line that appears around the periphery?! 5.6 x 4.5 x 4.1 cm
5.0 x 4.8 x 4.8 cm. A fine, 1.7 cm, cuboctahedral fluorite crystal perched atop coated, calcite rhomb matrix. The pastel-purple fluorite crystal has two, absolutely water-clear faces that give a distinct, TV-look into the crystal interior. The remaining faces are lightly frosted. Also present is a small, spinel-twinned fluorite crystal attached to the upper corner of the fluorite. The matrix is glassy, intergrown, colorless calcite rhombs with a secondary overgrowth of cream-colored calcite microcrystals. This is a very distinctive specimen from a small new pocket found at the mines of Naica, Mexico about mid-2008.
9.9 x 7.4 x 3.8 cm. Beautiful, ice-like, water-clear, light green fluorite cubes form this specimen from recent finds at the Xianghualing Mine of Hunan Province. The largest cube is 3.0 cm.
7.5 x 4.4 x 3.4 cm. Okorusu Fluorites are renowned for their purple/green zoning, but finding truly gemmy crystals from this mine is difficult. This partial stalactite is composed of highly-modified, mint green crystals that are completely gemmy. The modified faces are highly stepped and very attractive. The luster is excellent, and the largest crystal is approximately 2 cm. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
3.6 x 1.8 x 1.3 cm. A sharp pseudomorph of Fluorite after Mica. It is very sharp, and has retained the elongated hexagonal book shape very well. Remarkably, it also has a terrific wine-red gemminess. This piece is a complete crystal, doubly terminated, but repaired in the middle. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
10.5 x 9.6 x 7.5 cm. A large and very distinctive cluster of intriguing and very gemmy green Fluorites. The Fluorite crystals are a beautiful clear green, and the octahedrons (exposed up to 2 cm) are highly stepped on the faces with mirror-like flat terminations at each tip. The Fluorite has a blue-white fluorescence reminiscent of English Fluorites. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
19 x 14 x 4 cm. A large plate of two-generation Fluorite. The basic habit is the octahedron, some fairly straightforward and some complex. The largest is about 4 cm across, with many of the octahedrons being about 2 cm on edge. The color is a light delicate green with equally delicate purple cores. The second generation Fluorite druse adds even more visual and mineralogical interest. Ex. Charlie Key Collection.
6.2 x 5.7 x 4.2 cm. Small jewel-like fluorites to about 1 mm provide a contrasting accent to the rounded rhodochrosite crystals across the pocket, in this combination specimen. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
4.4 x 3.6 x 2.7 cm. Intensely purple octahedra to 1.5 cm on edge, classic for this locality. Ex. Harold Urish Collection.
10.0 x 6.2 x 5.8 cm. A fine, 3-dimensional, mounded cabinet specimen richly covered with very glassy, transparent, golden-yellow fluorite cubes to 8 mm from recent finds at the Moscona Mine, Spain. The aesthetically scattered rosettes of bladed barite are a very nice accent.
4.4 x 3.1 x 2.2 cm. Gemmy and lustrous, emerald-green fluorite cubes and cuboctahedrons with classic, purple color zoning are clustered atop starkly contrasting, layered feldspar on this specimen from the finds of several years ago from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia.
9.5 x 8.1 x 6.0 cm. A fine Elmwood combination specimen of fluorite on sphalerite from the Consie Prince Collection. A beautiful intergrown cluster of highly lustrous, nearly transparent, light purple fluorite cubes to 2.5 cm with riveting, stepped-growth faces and striking, darker purple color-zoning on the edges are set on the 3-dimensional matrix of splendent, black sphalerite crystals with ruby-jack, gemmy highlights. The isolated, 1.0 cm fluorite cube on the corner is especially beautiful.
4.5 x 3.4 x 2.9 cm. A fine, two-sided cluster of intergrown, translucent, "Blanchard-blue" fluorite cubes to 1.6 cm from the Blanchard Mine of New Mexico. The lightly frosted cubes have nice purple edges and the fluorite cluster is perched atop a mounded cluster of complimentary quartz crystals.
