5.0 x 4.4 x 3.4 cm. This specimen features a standalone cube of 2.2 cm in a setting of smaller crystals. It shows the characteristic super-complex stepped growth that makes fluorites from this locality so distinctive. Ex. Consie Prince Collection.
7.0 x 5.1 x 2.6 cm. The Okorusu has turned out a profusion of specimens over the years, but here is a specimen from the older finds there, and you can tell by the combination of intense purple, green and teal colors that made these instantly recognizable. The camera had trouble picking up the green, but it is quite obvious in person under good light. The crystals have fine luster; they measure to 1.7 cm on edge.
9.3 x 5.8 x 3.7 cm. This is from older finds at Naica, not the more recent ones of fluorite with sphalerite and galena; you can tell by the different crystal form here, which includes really pretty stepped growth. The crystals have intense shiny-metallic luster. On one side of the specimen is a cluster of colorless fluorites and small scalenohedrons of calcite. Ex. Consie Prince Collection.
5.7 x 4.1 x 2.5 cm. You can tell that this specimen is from older finds at Okorusu Mine. These older Okarusu fluorites have beautiful combinations of purple, green and teal-blue. This one is dominated by teal and green, and is lighter in color. The complete crystal in the center measures 2 cm along the edge; the other crystals are cleaved from removal from matrix. These older Okorusu pieces are typically (as this one) a lot more transparent than most of the newer material.
12.4 x 8.2 x 6.8 cm. This is an exceptional specimen from the find. Most remarkable is the largest single crystal I have ever seen on one of these: 4 cm in each direction. The crystals have good transparency for this find, and nice deep pink color. This is a very 3-dimensional specimen with well-articulated crystals, where most of these were rather flat plates of low-profile crystals. The mining here is now finished.
12.8 x 7.9 x 4.8 cm. Here is a sizeable fluorite plate from the new finds at the Okorusu Mine. The crystals measure to 1.3 cm on edge. They have sharp and complex phantoms inside: yellow inside, wrapped in green, with a thin purple line around that, surrounded by a nearly colorless exterior.
12.4 x 7.9 x 6.8 cm. A very uncommon Argentine specimen of fluorite that came out of the collection of Dave Stoudt, featuring light green octahedra to 1.5 cm on a matrix of sparkly quartz. Some of the tiny quartz points have grown right on the surface of the fluorites. The quartz itself forms a "seat" in shape, and is sparkling and bright. Very unusual material obtained by Dave Stoudt while there on oil business.
4.3 x 3.4 x 2.8 cm. An aesthetic and unusual fluorite cluster from the less well-known Basurto Mine, La Collada area, Asturias, Spain. The striking, large, 2.7 cm, purple fluorite cube is water-clear and lustrous, but has a preferentially frosted face and also has very interesting, preferentially etched, modified, cuboctahedral corners. All of the crystals also have excellent, deeper purple, edge phantoms. Ex. Dave Stoudt Collection.
6.5 x 4.8 x 3.0 cm. A striking and aesthetic quartz crystal from the Yaogangxian Mine of China. A complete all-around, water-clear, glassy quartz crystal has a superb, preferentially coated chlorite phantom, with the lower portion of the front of the quartz crystal also preferentially coated with chlorite. A beautiful surprise on the back features two, gemmy and lustrous, purple fluorite cubes.
8.8 x 6.1 x 3.6 cm. A fine combination specimen from the Moscona Mine of Spain. Lustrous, pearlescent, parallel-growth baryte blades in diverging patterns beautifully accent the honey-amber fluorite cubes on massive fluorite matrix.
A GEM of a fluorite, a gorgeous transparent purple, with perfect form, no damage and beuatiful bevels along the edges. This is about as wonderful a fluorite mini as you could ask for, sitting right up on contrasting matrix. Fluorites are common, but not like this! 5.5 x 4.2 x 2.5 cm
Difficult to photograph, but this is a cluster of sharp, undamaged cubes piled up attractively, crowned with the largest one (1.2 cm on edge). The color is deep purple with green tones. 6.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm
These pink fluorite plates with a rim of white matrix are the rare exception amongst the new pink fluorite finds in Mexico. They occur when a cluster of crystals is isolated in a way that it can be excavated and trimmed out with a rim of matrix around it. At any rate, this is obviously a very beautiful specimen. The crystals measure to 1.4 cm; there is NO damage. 16 x 11 x 2.5 cm
The matrix is covered on both sides with fine crystals to just under one centimeter, of the fine teal blue the Blanchard is famous for. Really can be displayed from either side! 6.3 x 5.7 x 3 cm
Purple cubes to just over a centimeter, ranged along a contrasting light grey matrix. The crystals along the periphery are not complete. New find! 11.5 x 6 x 4.5 cm
