14.9 x 7.8 x 4.3 cm. This large shard of matrix was loose in the pocket, allowing sparkly calcite crystals as well as a patch of transparent yellow ones to form all over it. But the main thing here is the 2.2-cm, light teal-blue fluorite, with its complex crenellated edges and internal purple phantom. The edges look less white and "crusty" in person - what you are seeing is the blocky edge growth patterns and some tiny calcites that have formed in the recesses. Near the large crystal is a very sharp and pretty little purple phantom.
4.8 x 4.3 x 3.7 cm. Two glassy, nearly transparent, intergrown fluorite octahedrons to 2.5 cm are perched atop mounded matrix covered with shimmering, mirror-bright pyrite cubes and a few sphalerite crystals on this fine specimen from the famed late 1980 find at the Huanzala Mine of Peru.
7.2 x 4.7 x 1.8 cm. An old-time, fine 3-dimensional crust of intensely purple, lustrous and gemmy fluorite cubes nicely accented with lustrous, brassy chalcopyrite crystals from the John Barlow Collection. This classic, old-timer is from Schlaggenwald, Czech Republic.
10.8 x 7.6 x 6.6 cm. A rare specimen from a small, remote locality even further out from Dal’negorsk. It is a superb specimen, extremely aesthetic, with sharp green octahedra to just over an inch crowning quartz matrix. A larger octahedron on the backside as well. Ex. Dr. Ed David Collection.
10.5 x 10.0 x 9.4 cm. A very unusual cluster of fluorites from this mine, with sharp, gemmy, pastel green octohedra to 2 inches across on edge. The piece is entirely translucent and complete all around. The sharp symmetry draws the eye to the pagoda-like cluster of crystals atop. Ex. Ed David Collection.
5.5 x 4.5 x 1.8 cm. Richard Kosnar mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970's and managed to collect some excellent Rhodochrosite specimens. This piece is from one of the last pockets that Rich opened before he was done at the mine. This specimens hosts sharp crystals of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 1.7 cm with great red-pink color with excellent gemminess. They are associated with minor Quartz and lilac cubic Fluorite plus one distinctive striated cube of Pyrite on matrix.
5.2 x 5.0 x 4.5 cm. A 3.9 cm, nearly transparent fluorite cube with TV-like edge phantoms is very aesthetically perched on a bit of matrix. This very fine, lightly frosted piece is superb. Ex. Ryan Bowling Collection.
This is a large, beautiful plate of pink fluorite from the recent finds in Mexico, a find that has been particularly exciting in light of the prohibitive cost of pink fluorite from the Alps and Peru (a specimen this size is unheard of from these localities). The crystals, to 1.8 cm, are unusually transparent on this specimen, with fine deep pink color and good sharpness. This is one of the few specimens of any size and quality which when trimmed left a rim of white contrasting matrix, which adds a lot to its overall beauty. A real show-stopper! 16.5 x 16 x 4 cm
A cluster of crystals to 3.5 cm across with classic Illinois zoning - yellow on the inside, a dark purple band (at the edge of the phantom) then teal blue outside of that. 6.5 x 5 x 3.5 cm
Okarusu fluorites are very difficult to photograph and look better in person. This is a superb cluster, with razor-sharp crystals to 2 cm of fine transparency and classic Okarusu hues of purple and green. There is exceedingly little damage to be seen - the specimen is in just wonderful condition. The specimen is quite 3-dimensional, with the crystals wrapping around both sides. 7.8 x 6.5 x 5.4 cm
A cluster of pretty purple crystals to 1.5 cm. 6 x 3.3 x 2.3 cm
Pretty, light green crystals to 2.7 cm tall, stacked on a matrix of quartz. Good Arizona fluorites are relatively uncommon, and these are undamaged and have fine translucency! 7 x 4 x 3 cm
Sharp crystals to 1.5 cm of the classic Blanchard blue. 6 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm
A beautiful Elmwood small mini, featuring 4 intergrown crystals, the uppermost being 2 cm on edge. The crystals have a milky translucency in the middle, with sharp purple bands around the edges that outline the crystals and add real distinction to this specimen. 3.6 x 3.4 x 2.2 cm
A wonderful combination specimen featuring a cluster of sharp arsenopyrite crystals amidst purple fluorite crystals. Though the Yaogangxian Mine has turned out a good number of fine arsenopyrite specimens, good association specimens with pretty fluorite such as this are uncommon at best and unique perhaps - I haven''t had another to offer for sale, in any case. 8.8 x 5.5 x 2.5 cm
